However, with that being said, the moment that Gordon becomes a suspect and is arrested by Montoya and that twist at the end really salvaged this overall episode. That ending really not only made you excited to see what will happen within the confines of the next episode, it also made you excited what will happen in the confines of the remainder of the season.

Now before you get confused and think The Boy Wonder Dick Grayson will appear on the show remember that Bruce Wayne himself is still a 12 year old himself so Dick wouldn't even be a thought. But in a recent interview with The Daily Beast Gotham star Ben McKenzie reveals that we may see Dick's parents The Flying Graysons appear on the show never-the-less; which would be a great future tease to Robin:

“The Grayson’s may appear this season. I’m not 100 percent sure yet, but I think so.”

It isn't to much of a stretch to believe a young Bruce Wayne would visit Haley's Circus to see the legendary Flying Graysons family.

Last week it was announced that WB is moving forward with a Static Shock live-action TV Series. Well now Flickering Myth (and NerdReactor) are claiming to hear that WB is eyeing young Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid, After Earth) to portray the electronic wielding teen hero Virgil Hawkins aka Static Shock. This wouldn't be the first member of the Smith family to be apart the DC Universe. Currently, Jada Picket Smith is playing the dangerous yet sexy Fish Mooney on Gotham. Also, its been rumored that Will Smith is being looked at to be cast in Suicide Squad in an unknown role. So when will little Willow Smith be in a DC project?


Speaking of Willow Smith it is entirely possible that if Will Smith is being looked at for Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot in David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Young Willow Smith could join her father as the daughter of Floyd Lawton;  Zoe Lawton. But that is complete speculation....Deadshot has to be even confirmed as a character in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.

The question of this day in age in comic film or TV adaptions is are they all connected? Marvel has done it first literally connecting their movies with television and soon netflix shows like Daredevil all into one massive shared universe. So the question remained will DC do the same thing? This is something that has plagued DC fans since Arrow lit up the small screen on The CW. Will Stephen Amell's Arrow ever meet up with Henry Cavill's Superman? Well at this past year's Comic-Con it seemed DC head Geoff Johns put that theory to rest that Arrow & it's spin-off show The Flash are in a separate universe than Henry Cavill and Ben Afflecks Batman & Superman. But was he lying? He was and he wasn't.

Today, Geoff Johns spoke with BuzzFeed to confirm that DC is trying to actual create a cinematic multiverse!

“We look at it as the multiverse. We have our TV universe and our film universe, but they all co-exist. For us, creatively, it’s about allowing everyone to make the best possible product, to tell the best story, to do the best world. Everyone has a vision and you really want to let the visions shine through. I think the characters are iconic enough. I like [Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.] a lot. I love what Marvel does. I’m a huge fan. It’s just a different approach.”

Now for some of you who don't know DC had a multiverse with multiple "earths". That means one superhero may live their whole life in one universe and have a slightly different version on the second earth. Or one superhero maybe one person on Earth-1 but on Earth-2 the mantle is taken up by someone else like Jay Garrick & Barry Allen both being The Flash. And The Flash is the one who first learns of the multiverse....Which is also teased at the end of The Flash pilot episode.

Now if DC can actually pull off doing a multiverse that means while the TV & Film universe are connected they are separate at the same time. What ever happens on film won't dictate what happens on TV and vice-versa. So the writers still have creative freedom and aren't held down by each others contradicting storylines. That is until DC finally pulls out their wild card and does a Crisis on Infinite Earths movie which will have all the universes collide into one another.  But this type of massive movie is obviously far down the line for DC...

So  as far as we know we have the Man of Steel Universe, the Arrow-Verse and last week Sandman creator Neil Gaiman mentions DC has yet to announce a slate of Vertigo Universe movies that are coming out like Sandman or Justice League: Dark which would give us a third universe. It's unknown where Gotham, Constantine, Lucifer, Teen Titans, Supergirl, or Static Shock fit within these universes or others.

Lastly, he adds that maybe one day they will have a crossover but not anytime soon...

"There’s been discussions over the years for both, obviously. You never say never. Maybe one day we’ll link a show to a film if it makes sense, but the creative process we’re going through right now is to let the stuff live and breathe and be its own thing and own it."

The Thompkins character is best known for serving as a parental figure to the young, recently orphaned Bruce Wayne. In Gotham, she will be an employee at the newly opened Arkham Asylum, and will find herself "drawn close to James Gordon" as the series plot progresses.

Batman-News has unveiled the very first image of the infamous Arkham Asylum: Prison for the Criminally Insane made famous from Batman lore. It looks almost identical to the comic counterpart.

Several months ago Gotham director Danny Cannon had an off handed comment that he would love to see Mr. Freeze come to the Gotham TV Series. Well, Digital Spy caught with Cannon again at the San Diego Comic-Con to talk Mr. Freeze. The TV director goes onto reveal that he has a reality based origin story for Mr. Freeze that would fit into this grounded universe and villains:

"My first conversation with [showrunner] Bruno Heller about the villains in this show is always that they need to be very credible and relatable and the science behind them needs to be real," he says. "So I had a couple of stories that I'd held onto -- real, true stories -- and one of them just related to Mr Freeze. I know a real way to create an origin story."

Now the Gotham Twitter account has all but confirmed that we will indeed see Mr. Freeze in  the upcoming TV Series at some point!

In other news Deadline is reporting that David Zayas (Dexter) has been cast as the crime boss Sal Maroni in Gotham. Maroni is in a constant gang war with the Carmine Falcone crime family.


Lastly, a new extended TV Spot for Gotham hints yet again at the clown prince of crime The Joker!

Today IGN caught up with showrunner Bruno Heller at the TCA's 14 to once again talk about the upcoming Batman-prequel TV series Gotham! The showrunner once again reiterates that The Joker will appear at some point but won't be referenced during every episode like previously reported. As well as going onto reveal Batman baddie Hugo Strange will indeed make an appearance during season one! And also that Season One took some inspiration from the hugely successful game franchise Arkham (Asylum, City, Origins, Knight)

"Hugo Strange is going to pop up because we're going to start dealing with how Arkham was created and why Arkham was created in the way that it was so, yeah, absolutely. It's a Season One thing because in our telling of it the way Arkham was created and the why and how is one of the causes of the particular criminal climate in Gotham that allowed Batman to happen. The revolving door of Arkham is both a brilliant narrative device because it allows you to -- you don't have to kill people off, you can just put them in cold storage -- but if you're telling the story from the start you kind of have to explain, 'What the f***? Why don't you make that place a place people don't escape from?' We're going to explain why it is the way it is and Hugo Strange is a big part of that."

 He does reveal two changes coming to the Batman villains Poison Ivy and Two-Face. Apparently Harvey Dent will be much older then Bruce Wayne unlike Selina Kyle and Ivy Pepper who are all still children:

"We're playing Harvey Dent slightly older. He's more Gordon's age in this telling. One of the things to avoid in order not to tell a high school story -- which would be great, but it''s a different show on a different network at a different time that I would not be a part of. But he will go back to school and villains will be part of that world."

 He then goes onto talk about the name change they gave Ivy. Her name in the comics is Pamela Isley but here she is simply a foster child named Ivy Pepper:

"It’s really about being able to tell the secret histories of these stories. If you just re-tell stories exactly as they’ve been told before, whilst you’re being true to the created mythology, you’re not really adding anything to it. So you have to find ways of finding more. And in this case, we’ve set up a situation in which Ivy Pepper, her mom is sick, her dad is dead… She’s going to go to the orphanage. And she’s a nice young girl; relatively undamaged. And she will find people to adopt her. And then we will start on the Poison Ivy story that people are familiar with."

With all the Batman pre-villains the showrunner does stress that season one really is "The Rise of The Penguin" more then any other villain. Hugo Strange or Harvey Dent have yet to be cast.

Several weeks ago it was revealed that in the pilot episode there is a scene in Fish Mooney's bar with a Comedian on stage. Many assumed that this may be the early version of Joker before he becomes The Joker. Well, Bleeding Cool has learned that each episode will tease a different Joker origin story with multiple actors before the big reveal:

Basically, every episode in the first season will introduce a character that might be a future Joker, each emphasising aspects of the character’s iconography, a card sharp, a flower seller, a clown, or just a guy with a very big grin.

All relatively unknown actors. All potentially a Joker. But only one of them being the actual Clown Prince Of Crime.

In the comics The Joker even jokes about having multiple origins. One of his origins like in The Killing Joke shows him as a failed comedian who can't  pay the bills for his wife. Another origin is the most accepted which is the Red Hood storyline when Joker is a failed magician and falls into a vat of chemicals after being chased by a young Batman.

Today, DC Entertainment and FOX announced the premiere date of the hotly anticipated TV Series Gotham. It will debut September 22nd Monday's this Fall!

Warner Bros. Entertainment will plant its flag at Comic-Con International: San Diego this year with a huge presence, with each individual division touting its upcoming offerings, including Film, Television, Interactive and Home Entertainment, as well as a variety of product from DC Entertainment, whose celebrations in honor of 75 years of one of the world’s most beloved Super Heroes—Batman—will be in full swing.

Premiering October 24th, “Constantine” will air Fridays at 10/9c on NBC and stars Matt Ryan, Charles Halford and Harold Perrineau. Based on the characters from DC Comics and produced by Bonanza Productions Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television, “Constantine” is executive produced by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer. Neil Marshall directed the pilot from a teleplay by Cerone and story by Cerone & Goyer.

Today DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers television announced (via Entertainment Weekly) a massive panel will occur this July 26th for all their upcoming DC Comic shows including The CW's Arrow and Flash. As well as FOX's cop-drama Gotham and NBC's supernatural thriller Constantine.

The pilots for both Gotham and The Flash will be shown in their entirety for the audience. Footage from the pilot of Constantine will be shown as well as teaser footage from Arrow season 3 will be shown during this 3-hour panel.

There will also be time for each shows cast & crew to get a few minutes into speak about each individual show.

Get ready for a spectacular Saturday night at Comic-Con 2014, courtesy of Warner Bros. Television (WBTV) and DC Entertainment (DCE). For the first time ever at SDCC, WBTV and DCE will present a three-hour special event on Saturday night, July 26, designed specifically for DC Comics fans and featuring some of DC Comics’ greatest characters. Kicking off the exclusive evening is the world premiere public screening of the highly anticipated new drama series Gotham (the only screening of Gotham at this year’s Comic-Con), followed by a screening of the complete pilot of new action-drama The Flash, and exclusive video presentations from returning hit Arrow and new thriller Constantine. Cast members and producers from all four shows will make special appearances throughout the night.

Gotham World Premiere: For the first time ever, DC Comics fans will enter the dangerous and compelling world of Gotham with a screening of the pilot episode, followed by an appearance by the cast and producers.

The Flash Pilot Screening: Following a full-length screening of The Flash pilot, cast and producers will stop running long enough to take the stage.

Constantine Exclusive Footage: The enigmatic John Constantine makes his television debut at Comic-Con with footage from the upcoming series, and fans will be treated to a visit from the cast and creative team.

Arrow Season Three: Arrow returns to Comic-Con with never-before-seen teaser footage from the upcoming third season followed by cast and producers taking on fans’ most pointed questions.
