GOTHAM casts Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins

Actress Morena Baccarin, best known for her roles in Firefly and Homeland, has joined the cast of Gotham as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, a close friend and medical colleague of Thomas Wayne. 

The Thompkins character is best known for serving as a parental figure to the young, recently orphaned Bruce Wayne. In Gotham, she will be an employee at the newly opened Arkham Asylum, and will find herself "drawn close to James Gordon" as the series plot progresses.
