Today, Marvel officially announced that former Doctor Who star David Tennant has joined their second Netflix series AKA Jessica Jones as Kilgrave. "an enigmatic figure from Jessica’s past, Kilgrave’s reappearance will send shockwaves through the former super hero’s world." Kilgrave will be the Marvel Cinematic Universe name for The Purple Man. The Purple Man as some of you might not know is the twisted villain that psychologically abuses Jessica Jones back during her crime fighting days as the superhero Jewel.Jessica Jones will be played by Breaking Bad's Krysten Ritter while new comer Mike Colter will play her love interest Luke Cage.

Ever since Marvel Studios got the rights back to the vigilante Punisher speculation on when he would make his big MCU debut has run rampt. We have had several hints to the character in All hail The King as well as Captain America: The Winter Solider but no actual appearance. Hands down everyone's favorite actor who has played the character is Thomas Jane from 2004's The Punisher. While the film didn't make much money and lacked in action for more drama it still was the best interpretation we have had out of all three Punisher films. That was until Thomas Jane took it upon himself to create the 2012 short film Dirty Laundry starring himself once again as The Punisher. This short made people believe he was the clear choice to once again play the character if Marvel ever used the character in the movies.


Well, now Marvel is only a few short months away from releasing their first "darker" Netflix series Daredevil who has a long complicated history with The Punisher. They both are literally two sides of the same coin. Daredevil fears that without control he could turn into The Punisher while battling the mob in New York's, Hells Kitchen. So many have wondered would Punisher appear in the show or the other upcoming Hells Kitchen shows like Jessica Jones, Luke cage or Iron Fist? No casting or hint to the character has been given but fan-favorite Thomas Jane reveals he would return. While speaking on his own popular Reddit AMA the actor reveals to a fan that with the right story he would return to the character:
Let's just hope that even if The Punisher doesn't make an appearance in the Netflix shows some strong easter eggs hint to his existence in the ever growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Today in Dave of Latino-Review's spoiler filled column he revealed that the deal between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures seems to have gone through to allow Spider-Man to appear in Avengers: Infinity War Part I. He also goes onto reveal some massive spoilers on what is to become of Marvel's big three Captain America, Thor and Iron Man before the massive intergalactic battle with Thanos.

According to their sources towards the end of Captain America: Civil War it seems Steve Rogers will indeed be killed off as seen in the climax of the Civil War comic story arc "Death of Captain America". It will be at the hands of Crossbones () and will be during the feud between Rogers and Tony Stark after Stark finds out it was Bucky who killed his planets as confirmed in Captain America: The Winter Solider. They go onto claim somehow Iron Man will end up in space but is extremely vague on this. Remember Tony Stark does join the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics so this might be how the Guardians warn The Avengers about Thanos since remember...they have no idea he even exists yet. Lastly, in Thor: Ragnarok many Asgardians will die and this will lead to Thor (Chris Hemsworth) being sent to a "Galactic Prison" of sorts. Is this him finally being sent to Valhalla? And just like that the top three Marvel characters will be out of Avengers: Infinity War Part I.

Who will then defend earth from Thanos? Apparently the "New" Avengers may end up being lead by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) himself along with Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). Others on the team include Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver (Elizabeth Olsen & Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Iron Fist (TBA). New additions also include Captain Marvel (TBA) and Spider-Man (TBA) will also play a large part as well. Lastly, they add the any of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Inhumans could also play a part in the battle. Let's just hope Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) gets to shine in the films once again without being forced to add any of the other characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D into the movies.

None of the original Avengers from the first two phases will have a part in Infinity War Part I because they will return for Infinity War Part II.This will be Marvel's first test to see if these new characters can lead the company into future Phases without the main Avengers appearing.

Marvel announced that the slightly unknown actor Mike Colter has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Luke Cage. He will first debut in AKA Jessica Jones alongside Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, then he will split off into his own series that will follow his origin story. "During the course of an investigation in New York City, private investigator Jessica Jones encounters the enigmatic Luke Cage – a man whose past has secrets that will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined"

Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb adds:

"We're excited to have him bring this iconic Marvel character to life. Fans have longed to see Luke Cage brought and in Mike we’ve found the perfect actor. Viewers will get to meet Luke Cage in ‘Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones,’ and experience why he is such an important super hero in the Marvel mythos."

Today, Marvel had officially announced that Krysten Ritter has been cast as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Netflix series. It was also announced by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg that the show will debut in 2015 and not 2016 as many suspected!

"Krysten brings both the hard edge and the vulnerability the role demands. We can't wait for fans to see her in action, coming to Netflix in 2015."

Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb adds about the Ritter casting: 

"Krysten Ritter has the type of range, spanning the comic to the tragic, that makes for the stuff of the best Marvel heroes. As Jessica Jones, Krysten will bring one of the most beloved new characters of the past decade to life in a way we know will delight her longtime fans and introduce her to many more."

 Marvel also announced that the show will be titled A.K.A Jessica Jones like it was originally titled back when it was going to be on ABC.If Daredevil starring Charlie Cox wil debut in May 2015 it should be expected that Jessica Jones will debut sometime in Fall 2015 but that's just speculation...

Ever since Marvel and Netflix announced they would be bringing their street heroes like Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones many have wondered who would play these iconic characters. We already know that Charlie Cox is hard at work finishing up filming Daredevil for a May 2015 release on Netflix. Now Marvel is hard at work casting their Jessica Jones & Luke Cage. Both of whom share a romantic relationship with in the comics. According to Deadline the role of Jessica Jones is being tested by True Detective star Alexandra Daddario, Arrow's Jessica De Gouw, Teresa Palmer and Breaking Bad star Krystn Ritter.

The site even goes onto give a brief synopsis of the series headed by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg:

Jessica Jones, a superhero suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.

They go onto reveal that casting on her future husband Luke Cage has also begun. They first start off by stating Cage is expected to appear in 6 or 7 episodes of Jessica Jones before getting his own series later own. They state Crisis star Lance Gross and The Following Mike Colter are being looked at but other names may pop up soon...

Marvel's Daredevil is hitting Netflix next summer but Marvel Live caught up with the actors who portray the characters. They don't go into anything to spoiler-ish but they do enjoy the scripts and stunts while working in New York City:

Today, Marvel debuted their upcoming Netflix exclsuive Daredevil at New York Comic Con. First, they showed a concept art poster as well as first official images of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. It also shows that Murdock's Daredevil suit will be an upgrade throughout the series and has yet to be fully revealed. But check out the ninja prototype!

Today, Marvel announced that their first Netflix series show Daredevil will indeed have a presence at New York Comic-Con along with full cast roundtable discussion. Also headed to the Comic-Con is Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D before they kick off their massive second season:

What exactly will Marvel be allowed to do on these upcoming Netflix shows? Well, it's obvious that since it will be on Netflix and not ABC they get to go a little more gritty then normal. Well some people have asked Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight about exactly how violent the show can be and he is kinda vague but accurate:

Lets hope with the elevated violence we actually do get characters like The Punisher appear on the show.

Marvel's Daredevil will be the very first time the Marvel Cinematic Universe will delve into the gritty world of gangs and kingpins. Well the star villain of the series Vincent D'Onofrio recently spoke with Men's Journal about his role as the iconic villain Kingpin and also drawing inspiration from Frank Miller's run on the character. Lastly, he teases once again about Marvel's bigger plans for not just Daredevil but Kingpin crossing over to the larger universe we see on film:

Now that I have you in a good mood, let’s talk about Daredevil.
Filming has been great. I can’t really talk about specifics. Really. But I can tell you it’s all working. It’s all gritty. Everything is really impressive. They seem to know what they’re doing over at Marvel. I think ever since Downey and [Jon] Favreau did Iron Man and proved that comic book movies could be really cool they’ve just embraced that and taken it to the next level. They keep knocking it out of the park. This Netflix series that we’re filming right now, it’s going to be so amazing to watch. We’re doing these incredible, iconic scenes every single day. I have the best character; I play one of the best characters I’ve read in a long time. I haven’t had this much fun with a role for many years. 

  How much did you know about the character before signing on?
I knew a bit about Wilson Fisk. I had seen the movies. I saw other interpretations. But for this, they really wanted everything to be fresh. They’re operating like they have been doing their movies. I’m finding most of my inspiration for Fisk coming from the old artwork, artists like Frank Miller.

Your new friend Downey must have been very excited you got the role.
He was thrilled. My wife actually texted him a photo of me dressed as Kingpin and we got a very, very excited text back.

I look forward to the Iron Man versus Kingpin crossover happening very soon.
[Laughs.] It’s not impossible! They have all kind of plans. I think this Daredevil show is going to be the start of some very exciting crossovers.

Also in the October issue of Total Film it was revealed that after the Daredevil and Jessica Jones shows Iron Fist will debut with Luke Cage being last during Netflix Phase One.

At the final Marvel panel today, Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and writers Mark Waid and Dan Slott talked about the Daredevil Netflix show that will be airing next May according to Bamsmackpow. Today marked the 50th anniversary of the titular hero. Joe discussed about shooting in New York as well as if the other other Hells Kitchen heroes (Iron Fist, Luke Cage etc) would appear in the show but Joe didn't comment. Daredevil will star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page. Are you guys excited for the show?

Today, a couple fan photos have popped up (via Comic Book Movie) from Marvel's Daredevil set. Now these are just fan photos with the actors and not from filming it should be noted that Charlie Cox is going with a scruffy bearded Matt Murdcock while Elden Henson is sporting a long haired Foggy Nelson. This should give you some kind of idea on how they will look in the series:

Filming on Marvel's very first Netflix series Daredevil has begun with some casting being announced. Now while the obvious Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) will appear in the upcoming street noir series one character seems to be missing. The longtime Daredevil love interest Elektra (Originally played by Jennifer Garner) has yet to even be announced in showing up in the series. So we took to twitter to ask the showrunner Steven DeKnight if the red assassin is expected to make an appearance on the show. :

Now that cryptic message can mean one of two things. Either DeKnight is confirming Elektra will not be appearing in at least season 1 of Daredevil and the show will explain why. Or she will appear in some small capacity and we will simple have to wait and see.

As long as she doesn't die and get resurrected ten times through the shows run I think she should be in the show...Lastly, some have speculated Rosorio Dawson may be playing either Elektra or Jessica Jones given her role in Daredevil is being kept a secret.

 

 Today, Latino-Review got their hands on a very short video from the secret filming on Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil series! It fetures a young Matt Murdock first losing his sight in the streets of New York. The young Murdock screams "I can't see!" in this scene..


Also our good friend @Marvel_Spider did some digging and found the production name of Daredevil will be Bluff in case you are around New York and see some filming.
