Massive Spoilers Leak On What Happens To Captain America, Thor and Iron Man Before 'Infinity War'

Today in Dave of Latino-Review's spoiler filled column he revealed that the deal between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures seems to have gone through to allow Spider-Man to appear in Avengers: Infinity War Part I. He also goes onto reveal some massive spoilers on what is to become of Marvel's big three Captain America, Thor and Iron Man before the massive intergalactic battle with Thanos.

    :: Massive Spoilers Ahead ::

According to their sources towards the end of Captain America: Civil War it seems Steve Rogers will indeed be killed off as seen in the climax of the Civil War comic story arc "Death of Captain America". It will be at the hands of Crossbones () and will be during the feud between Rogers and Tony Stark after Stark finds out it was Bucky who killed his planets as confirmed in Captain America: The Winter Solider. They go onto claim somehow Iron Man will end up in space but is extremely vague on this. Remember Tony Stark does join the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics so this might be how the Guardians warn The Avengers about Thanos since remember...they have no idea he even exists yet. Lastly, in Thor: Ragnarok many Asgardians will die and this will lead to Thor (Chris Hemsworth) being sent to a "Galactic Prison" of sorts. Is this him finally being sent to Valhalla? And just like that the top three Marvel characters will be out of Avengers: Infinity War Part I.

Who will then defend earth from Thanos? Apparently the "New" Avengers may end up being lead by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) himself along with Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). Others on the team include Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver (Elizabeth Olsen & Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Iron Fist (TBA). New additions also include Captain Marvel (TBA) and Spider-Man (TBA) will also play a large part as well. Lastly, they add the any of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Inhumans could also play a part in the battle. Let's just hope Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) gets to shine in the films once again without being forced to add any of the other characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D into the movies.

None of the original Avengers from the first two phases will have a part in Infinity War Part I because they will return for Infinity War Part II.This will be Marvel's first test to see if these new characters can lead the company into future Phases without the main Avengers appearing.

Avengers: Infinity War Part I hits in 2018

LL Cool J Set To Appear in An Upcoming Marvel Movie? T'Chaka 'Black Panther' Fan-Casting Begins

Yesterday Marvel officially announced their slate of films leading through 2020 including Captain Marvel, The Inhumans and Black Panther. Well several hours later singer-songwriter and actor LL Col J released a tweet teasing a possible role in one of those upcoming films:
Many though the actor was simply campaigning for a role after the massive buzz Marvel started with their film slate. Some thought he could be playing Luke Cage in a Netflix series but the actor went onto clarify it was specifically for a movie:
So that's a no to Luke Cage so maybe he has a supporting role in Marvel's Black Panther starring Chadwick Boseman? Some think he could play the villain M'Baku alongside Andy Serkis's Ulysses Klaw. But nothing has been confirmed...

And I mean if they can hire T.I in Ant-Man why not LL Cool J?

Speaking of supporting roles in Black Panther the guys over at Latino-Review dropped what is more like a fan-casting then an actual scoop that Denzal Washington should play T'Challa's father T'Chaka the first Black Panther:
Now while Denzal in anything would be great another great suggestion would be Black Sails, X-Men: Origins and Gotham Nigerien actor Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Above) especially if you listen to his accent which would be perfect as an African king:

'Black Panther' Slated For 2017 Starring Chadwick Boseman

Today, during Marvel Studios massive Phase 3 event in LA it was announced that long-time (And basically only) contender Chadwick Boseman (42, Get On Up) will indeed play Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was revealed that he will actually have a significant role in Captain America: Civil War out in 2016 before getting his own solo film November 2nd, 2017!

Chadwick Boseman took the stage in LA alongside Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr and stated what an honor it will be to play Black Panther alongside them:
“I’m blessed to be a part of this Marvel Universe, and to work with you both, and I look forward to making magic together,”
    Kevin Feige goes onto add:
“Black Panther and all of Wakanda is one of the most interesting characters in Marvel history. Something I already showed you today contains an Easter egg that leads directly into ‘Black Panther.’ He’s a bit of a prince, he may even become a bit of a king, but it’s all about how this isolationist country meets the world. Maybe it goes well, maybe it doesn’t.”

Could Black Panther be taking on the Cinematic role of Namor and Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War?!

Is Andy Serkis Playing a 'Black Panther' Villain in 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron?

Yesterday, Marvel (forcibly) released the HD trailer for The Avengers: Age of Ultron after a leak of the trailer happened hours prior. During one shot of the trailer it shows Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes). Now while it isn't revealed what character the actor is playing many have come to speculate he maybe playing Black Panther villain Ulysses Klaw.

This would be once again another hint that Marvel is going to introduce the King of Wakanda someday in their cinematic universe. We already had one small hint in Iron Man 2 and with part of Avengers 2 being placed within Africa it would make sense. Of course Marvel has yet to even announce a Black Panther movie is in the works...

Last we heard Chadwick Boseman (42, Get On Up) was Marvel choice for T'Challa aka Black Panther but that has yet to be confirmed. Even though the actor smiles every time he is asked about Black Panther....

Kevin Feige Once Again Says 'Black Panther' AND 'Ms. Marvel' Are In-Development!

Today, IGN caught up with the head-honcho of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige to talk once again about Marvel films! Shocker. The President reveals that he gets asked more about Black Panther and Ms.Marvel/Captain Marvel then Iron Man 4 or The Avengers 3 in terms of being developed. He does admit that they both are in development.

Last we heard on Black Panther was that Chadwick Boseman (42, Get On Up) was being sought after to play the King of Wakanda. While on the flip side Ms.Marvel is expected to make some type of cameo in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

'Star Wars: Episode VII' Star John Boyega Campaigning For a Marvel Role!

John Boyega is one of the few great rising stars on film to date. He broke onto the scene in the 2011 cult favorite Attack the Block. Has since been seen on the latest season of 24 as well as being cast as the lead JJ Abrams upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. But it seems Boyega is looking to play another role across the pond at Disney with Marvel Studios! He has recently taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on Sam Wilson becoming the new Captain America in comics as well as his excitement for Marvel's next big movie Guardians of the Galaxy:
He then jokes about aiming for a Marvel Studios role sometime in the future:

Now of course the first though that comes to mind is Black Panther but it seems Marvel may want someone slightly older looking actor for that role. Chadwick Bosemen from the movie 42 is currently looking like the front runner to play the King of Wakanda:

Now another good role that John Boyega looks exactly like would be The Patriot from the Young Avengers! Now Marvel has never announced any type of Young Avengers movie daption obviously but hey it looks like Boyega has at least read the Marvel: Civil War comic which has Partiot play a pretty large role in it:

Now with 6 untitled Marvel films being released until 2019 Marvel still can use Drew Pearce's (Iron Man 3) highly praised Runaways screenplay he wrote back in 2010 in a movie. Now while a Netflix mini-series might be more suited for The Runaways a movie could also still happen. I think that John Boyega would make a magnificent Alex Wilder based on his Attack the Block role as Moses. Last year I even wrote a fan casting editorial suggesting Boyega as Alex Wilder!
But this is all simply fan choices. There is no indication Marvel is even looking at Boyega for a potential role...but working on Star Wars at Disney at least still gives him an "in" if Marvel wants!

Does Wakanda's Vibranium Play a Role in 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron'?

Ever since The Avengers sequel was announced last year at San Diego Comic-Con as the "Age of Ultron" many have speculated that the storyline with Ultron infiltrating the African city of Wakanda for their vibranaium supply. We even wrote an editorial on how Ultron being the villain automatically means Wakanda needs to be in the sequel. Then we got word that The Avengers sequel will actually be shot in Africa a couple months ago. So again the rumors of Wakanda and Black Panther once again resurfaced but was quickly shot down.

Now Devin Faraci of Badass Digest has gotten some small tidbits that will once again bring the Black Panther/Wakanda rumors back to life. In Badass Digest report he teased the following:
“What if I told you that Age of Ultron invokes Wakanda as Ultron gets his comic book famous vibranium shell?”
The Black Panther rumors seem to all coming together. Just the other day rumored frontrunner Chadwick Boseman tried to play off that he knew nothing about Black Panther while smiling the entire time.

Only time will tell if we get the first black Marvel Studios superhero on film....

Chadwick Boseman Pretends He Knows Nothing About 'Black Panther'

Last year the guys over at Latino-Review dropped the scoop that up-and-coming 42 star Chadwick Boseman was being looked at as the possible king of Wakanda in a Black Panther solo film. Everything then got quite since the film hasn't actually been even announced. Now in recent interviews when asked about the rumors its seems Chadwick Boseman knows a little something....

    :: Skip to 3:33 ::

Of course he gives the typical Marvel "wink-wink I know nothing" answer that all actors do before being officially announced. Remember Paul Rudd's denial on Ant-Man? If anything he may have simply had a meeting with Marvel if nothing else. Expect an announcement on the future of Marvel movies at this years San Deigo Comic-Con in July.

Oh look Captain America: The Winter Soldier banner is behind him....

Chadwick Boseman Plays Coy When Asked About 'Black Panther'; Hints at 'Green Lantern'

Around May of last year around the time 42 was debuting the guys over at Latino-Review got word that Marvel Studios was seriously considering the star Chadwick Boseman for the role in an eventually Black Panther film. Then everything went silent on the project up until the premiere of Thor: The Dark World when Marvel head Kevin Feige assured fans Black Panther was 100% being seriously considered for a feature film.

Now BlackFilm.com spoke with the actor about the future of black superheros on screen. Of course they ended up asking if he would play Black Panther if Marvel Studios needed him...And he straight up played the "I don't know anything" game all Marvel actors seem to do:
Could you see yourself playing Black Panther?
Chadwick Boseman: I could see myself doing anything in terms of comic book, action, or anything like that. Black Panther, in particular, I’m not going to answer that.

    If not, then which character?
CB: Let me put to you this way. If it’s character driven, I’ll do it. As long as it’s character driven, I would love to do it. If it’s just you in a suit and you with powers, then it doesn’t interest me, no matter how big it is. As long as it’s character driven, I’m totally into it. If they could figure out how to do Black Panther and make it fit the original or adapt to the times we’re in now and be new and innovative and be character driven and has the sense of what the comic book is supposed to be, but not bound by it, then yes, of course, I would want to do it.
He did go onto ask Black Film if the audience wants a Black Panther film which they replayed "Yes" then he asked "What about Green Lantern?" but before they could answer the interview was over. Does he know something in both the Marvel and DC camps? He seems to be a sought after actor after his role in 42 and the upcoming James Brown biopic.

    EDITORIAL: Black Panther Fan-Cast!

Let me start off by saying; I am hoping this coming Comic-Con, Marvel finally announces ‘Black Panther’ as part of Phase 3. I am a big fan of the character & think he deserves a shot on the big screen. Many find it a controversial film, because of the possibility of “an all black cast” thus making it a “black film”. IMO, that doesn’t “count” for Marvel films. The Marvel brand appeals to all colors and creeds, so doing this character isn't as farfetched as doing Dr. Strange or even Guardians of The Galaxy. Also the possibility of a “advance African nation” shouldn’t scare anyone, does a “advanced alien nation” of Asgard discourage anyone from believing in it or being in awe by it? Also there’s a worry about how an advanced African nation, that has never been conquered, how do you portray that on film, will the citizens be in their traditional garb from years ago but use computer tech? Why can that NOT be possible? Why is it far fetched to think that people believe in their culture, they live their beliefs in the Panther God and that’s their spiritual awaking but are still engaged in technology to better their nation. To use this quote from a commenter on BadassDigest.com from the article “Marvel: Asgard Easier To Film Than A Black Civilization”:

“What makes T'Challa different than Thor or Captain America is that T'Challa actually has to rule a country and his decisions outside of his uniform actually affect millions of people. Thor can go on and on about how has to be humble if he wants to one day lead Asgard, but nothing he does in the movie has an immediate affect on more than a few hundred folks, including a one light town in New Mexico, at best. And he still has Daddy as the head of power. Hardly a test of a leader. And while Captain America is symbol who leads a team, Black Panther is a symbol who has to lead a nation”
    . - Charles Judson
There’s what makes T’Challa and to an extension T’Chaka different from Thor, Odin and Asgard. Also from the rest of the Avengers. “Blade” was a superhero film, led by Wesley Snipes, about a black human/vampire from the inner city. Was this a “black film” ? No. Granted, I can acknowledge that it won’t be easy to bring this film to mainstream audiences, Marvel is winning half the battle by bring Guardians of the Galaxy to them and showing them enjoying yourself and investing in their characters is a great way to escape from “our world” and enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    Now.

A director with a certain vision will be needed for this film to be great. Even though John Singleton has been rumored/attached to this film for years nothing has come around for it, and being as he is directing a Tupac Shakur biopic, he’s off the table. Though i like Singleton and how he works, I personally believe the man for the job is ‘12 Years a Slave’ Steve McQueen.

Yes I “went there”. Why not? Does he not deserve a shot to direct a big mainstream movie? If so why not Black Panther? it’ll be an easier way to sell the film. “Academy Award Winning/Nominee Director Steve McQueen” Why wouldn’t Marvel want that on poster and during marketing of the film? Also, like Thor, this film can be cast with big stars in supporting roles, that cross over “black and white audiences”. Vision makes these movies great, IMO, not if a director has or hasn’t been working with films that cost 100+ million dollar budgets.

    The Cast.

First, the father of T’Challa; T’Chaka. The proud king of the African nation Wakanda. For this I had a list of solid actors who can bring not only emotional weight but also bring the “star power” Marvel may want. These actors also range in various ages but can still do action scenes if need be, so it’s a win/win IMO.

Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Forest Whitaker, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Eddie Murphy.
It may seem EXTREMELY far-fetched to name these actors (Will Smith, Denzel Washington or Eddie Murphy) but IMO these actors have the name that cross over mainstream audiences without sacrificing their acting ability. All these actors can “bring it” and then some. Also, can you imagine the reaction to having Will Smith, let alone Denzel Washington in a Marvel movie, as a King of Wakanda?

Angela Bassett, Nia Long, Viola Davis.
N’Yami, the mother of T’Challa, Queen of Wakanda. I used the same template for this as for T’Chaka. An actress that can bring the emotion side of a mother but also bring the physicality if need be (who wouldn’t want to see both mother and father get their hands dirty with some cool action scenes?)Again, I had a list for N’Yami and these three actress range from age as well but still can be seen with anyone of my picks for T’Chaka. All three of these actresses are beautiful and bring a certain weight to any movie they do.
T’Challa = Chadwick Boseman. Now to the man himself. T’Challa, Prince and future King of Wakanda. He has the acting ability, the emotional range and marketability to be Marvel’s next be star. With the lead in ‘42’ (also opening #1) and the upcoming James Brown film, he’s star is only going up, and Marvel would be smart to snatch him up and lead the Phase 3 films, and even joining the (rumored) Illuminati.
Shuri = Tika Sumpter. Another rising star recently seen in the #1 movie ‘Ride Along’. Also currently filming “Get On Up” along side Chadwick Boseman. Not only a beauty but a potential lethal adversary to those opposing the royal family.
Yes, Tom Hanks or Brad Pitt. the “names in supporting roles” would go here. Let’s be real, Klaw is a very “eccentric” villain, no doubt the look of him would be more streamlined, but before the transformation, he was Ulysses Klaw a physicist working in the field of applied sonics. Before he turns into “the klaw” he must buy into the man himself. Someone who is willing to go the extra mile for their craft. Emotional weight but also someone who can be taken seriously, like Hanks or Pitt would go perfectly here.
Paladin = Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The fanboy choice to be in a CBM. Though I’m sure many would not agree with my choice or character. The ‘hired gun’ working for Klaw, obviously the costume will go through some tweaks but like his role in Oblivion or Mama, thi shouldn't be a long shoot for him, thus no conflict with his Game Of Thrones shoot which will obviously keep going (spoiler? sorry :-/)
Madam Slay = Sanaa Lathan. Finally, Madam Slay, the “true villain” of the picture, with the beautiful Sanaa Lathan at the helm of this character. Though her powers may seem too eccentric for the screen, a modification can be made and be the money behind Klaw and his research. Someone who is jealous of the royal family and is wanting of the throne to not only rule Wakanda but all of Africa.

So there you have it. Agree? Disagree? If you disagree or agree, just wait for my Dr. Strange and DC fan-cast....oh and thanks again Caleb!

No 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Afterall? 'Dr. Strange' to Spear Head Phase 3!

Last week Joblo dropped an exclusive that Marvel was fast tracking Guardians of the Galaxy sequel on literally the same exact day as DC's Batman vs Superman hits in 2016. This was very odd considering how obscure the Guardians are to the general public.

Now Schmoes Know has dropped their own exclsuive stating that Guardians of the Galaxy sequel was never going to happen. The film is suppose to be a one and done. According to their source Victor Jones:
I can confirm that as of the end of January, Marvel had no plans to make a Guardians 2. Marvel was planning on Guardians being a one and done. So unless they have done a complete 180 in the last couple weeks, I very much doubt there will be a Guardians 2.
    He goes onto say:
They only have so many films they can do each year and they don’t want them all to be trilogies to where they’re just dealing with the same handful of characters for the next 5-10 years.

He then goes onto "confrim" the films that WILL be in Phase III. Again, we are treating this as a rumor until official word comes from Marvel.  But he goes onto say:
The movies that will be part of Phase III for absolute certain are: Ant-Man, Captain America 3, Thor 3, The Avengers 3 and Dr. Strange.

Surprised? No not really. We at SMN have heard multiple times that Doctor Strange is Kevin Feiges pet project for a very long time.  He can possibly be the new Tony Stark of the Marvel universe once Robert Downey Jr. leaves after his contract ends. Victor Jones adds:
Feige has pretty much confirmed Dr. Strange for some time now. They really wanted it to be a part of Phase 2 at one point, but like Ant-Man that just didn’t happen. That’s probably the one that Feige is personally rooting for the most and as a result it is the solo film that is the highest priority other than the sequels.

What about fan favorites Black Panther and Inhumans? Well, they as well will eventually happen just a matter of when:
There has been talk about Black Panther and lots of talk about The Inhumans, they’re in the pipeline but are pretty much in the same boat that Dr. Strange and Ant-Man were in two years ago, where they want them to happen, and they will most likely both happen, but it’s just a question of how soon. However, those five films (Ant-Man, Cap 3, Thor 3, Dr. Strange & Avengers 3) are sure things and I can guarantee you they will all be announced at Comic Con if not sooner.
     And the waiting game begins.....

Guardians of the Galaxy hits this August!

Marvel Registers Trademarks for 'Black Panther' ?!

Today Comicbook.com got word that Marvel has registered some brand new trademarks of potentially upcoming movies! This is coming off a recent interview Kevin Feige had stating that Black Panther is 100% in development:
Irredeemable Ant-Man, Journey Into Mystery (Thor), Strikeforce: Morituri, Rocket Racoon, New Warriors, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Alpha Flight, and Age of Ultron.
Now some of these are obviously for comics like Alpha Flight but they suggest with the addition of Age of Ultron (Comic series already ended) some could also be for Movies! For the longest  time Black Panther has been a hero that most fans wanted on the big screen and has been rumored for some time. Maybe this finally means something! Currently Marvel has several open Untitled Movie Dates set for 2016/2017.

Last we heard was that Chadwick Boseman was at the top of Marvels list for T'Challa after his appearance in 42. Also, with the appearance of Ultron in the second Avengers movies its entirely possible they will introduce Wakanda and Vibranium into the film.

'Black Panther' is "100% In-Development" says Kevin Feige!

Well the news just keeps on coming. Today BlackTreeTV sat down with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige to talk Thor: The Dark World. During the interview he was asked about Marvel's first black superhero Black Panther and its current situation. The answer should excite you!

I don't believe for one second he doesn't know when Black Panther will hit the big screens. Trust me...he knows. Also, Latino-Review earlier this summer revealed that Chadwick Boseman (42) is at the top of Marvels list to bring T'Challa to life.

Thor: The Dark World hits November 8th in the US!
