Today in Dave of Latino-Review's spoiler filled column he revealed that the deal between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures seems to have gone through to allow Spider-Man to appear in Avengers: Infinity War Part I. He also goes onto reveal some massive spoilers on what is to become of Marvel's big three Captain America, Thor and Iron Man before the massive intergalactic battle with Thanos.
:: Massive Spoilers Ahead ::
According to their sources towards the end of Captain America: Civil War it seems Steve Rogers will indeed be killed off as seen in the climax of the Civil War comic story arc "Death of Captain America". It will be at the hands of Crossbones () and will be during the feud between Rogers and Tony Stark after Stark finds out it was Bucky who killed his planets as confirmed in Captain America: The Winter Solider. They go onto claim somehow Iron Man will end up in space but is extremely vague on this. Remember Tony Stark does join the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics so this might be how the Guardians warn The Avengers about Thanos since remember...they have no idea he even exists yet. Lastly, in Thor: Ragnarok many Asgardians will die and this will lead to Thor (Chris Hemsworth) being sent to a "Galactic Prison" of sorts. Is this him finally being sent to Valhalla? And just like that the top three Marvel characters will be out of Avengers: Infinity War Part I.
Who will then defend earth from Thanos? Apparently the "New" Avengers may end up being lead by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) himself along with Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). Others on the team include Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver (Elizabeth Olsen & Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Iron Fist (TBA). New additions also include Captain Marvel (TBA) and Spider-Man (TBA) will also play a large part as well. Lastly, they add the any of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Inhumans could also play a part in the battle. Let's just hope Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) gets to shine in the films once again without being forced to add any of the other characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D into the movies.
None of the original Avengers from the first two phases will have a part in Infinity War Part I because they will return for Infinity War Part II.This will be Marvel's first test to see if these new characters can lead the company into future Phases without the main Avengers appearing.

Sony & Marvel 'Spider-Man' Meeting Held in January; Kevin Feige Wants Avi Arad Out

Almost everything we heard regarding Spider-Man showing up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a bunch of "what of, could of" situations. Given that word is that talks broke down in late October early November about the character showing up in Captain America: Civil War. We also got word that Sony Pictures is planning on holding a "Spidey Summit" in January to figure out what they even want to do with the character from here on out. There have been talks of Spider-Man going back to Marvel or an adult Spider-Man reboot with Andrew Garfield allegedly fired.
Well now a scoop coming from Screen Gonzo claims to have some more details on this Spidey Summit. It will indeed include Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige as well as Sony head Amy Pascal at Pinewood Studios. Apparently if the deal goes through Marvel is seriously considering on using their famous post-credit stingers to fully set up Spider-Man for Avengers: Infinity War. But who will be directing Avengers: Infinity War? That would be Anthony and Joe Russo. The Russo Brothers already revealed to Sony head Amy Pascal that they would like to produce a Spider-Man film. But if Marvel regains the rights they are Marvel's top pick to write and direct the new trilogy of Spider-Man films after Avengers: Infinity War. The stinger could be in Avengers: Age of Ultron with pick-ups starting soon but most likely Captain America: Civil War.
Lastly, Kevin Feige has made it clear he wants longtime Spider-Man producer and former boss Avi Arad out of the new Marvel Spider-Man films. Ask any movie going nerd what the problem with the Spider-Man films are and they will all point to Avi Arad.
All these concerns were brought up in Amy Pascals leaked memo to herself regarding Avi Arad, The Russos and creative control. It will all finally be answered in January with some type of an announcement as early as February but definitely before Avengers: Age of Ultron hits in May. But keep in mind it's entirely possible Sony rejects everything and moves forward with their own Spider-Verse plans.

The Russo Brothers Will Direct 'Avengers: Infinity War'; Wants to Produce 'Spider-Man'

The leaked emails between Marvel and Sony keep getting better or worse depending on which side of the argument you are on. Overtice Brazil has unearthed emails between Captain America: The Winter Solider directors Anthony and Joe Russo to Sony head Amy Pascal in which they also asked for Spider-Man to appear in their next film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Of course the talks broke down over creative control until recently. Then on November The Russo's Brothers revealed that they would be taking over directing duties from Joss Whedon in Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2. But they reassure her their production company Bullitt will still help produce the Sony film The Gray Man.
They then go onto ask if they could produce the Spider-Man films (Unknown if this is for Marvel/Sony or just Sony) through their production company. And mention that it would be a difficult talk to basically kick current producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach out but one she should consider. Amy Pascal never got back to them on that offer but a week later their systems were hacked so it's possible she never had the time during the chaos. Lastly, the site goes onto mention how producer Avi Arad has begged Pascal to greenlight the Venom spin-off as well as Motion Picture Group head Jeff Robinov warning her not to make a deal with Marvel over Spider-Man's rights...
It has yet to be announced that the Russo's will direct the next installment of the Avenger series from Joss Whedon but let's at least hope Whedon stays on as a writer....

Frank Grillo's 'Crossbones' To Be Another Main Villain in 'Captain America: Civil War'

Now this information is pretty obvious if anyone has read Civil War or The Death of Captain America. In which Crossbones and The Winter Soldier play a pretty large role after the events of Civil War. Now Justin Kroll of Variety has revealed alongside Daniel Bruhl's unknown villain; Frank Grillo's character Brock Rumlow will indeed embrace his inner demons and become Crossbones
Beat by Marvel in that one, two things he will play villain but not main one, Crossbones still main

Daniel Bruhl Joins 'Captain America: Civil War' as the Main Villian

Marvel announced today that Rush and Inglorious Bastards star Daniel Bruhl has joined the massive sequel Captain America: Civil War alongside Captain America himself Chris Evans and Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. It was also revealed he will be playing a villain in the film but not the main villain obviously considering Captain America will face off against Iron Man. Many are speculating that he may be playing fan-favorite villain Baron Zemo but that hasn't been confirmed....Some trade sites go onto say he may also crossover and be a villain in Dr. Strange.

'Captain America 3' & 'Thor 3' Full Titles and Release Dates Announced!

Today was the day Marvel Studios had secretly planned since Comic-Con. Where they finally announced their full slate of Phase 3 films going through 2020. Instead of having announced at a simply business meeting (Looking at you DC) Marvel Studios decided to have a huge event in LA to announce their projects. You can't say they don't have showmanship:

First they announced that the already announced Captain America 3 will indeed be titled Captain America: Civil War starring Chris Evans as Captain America, Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man and finally announced Chadwick Boseman as the King of Wakanda Black Panther! Directed by The Russo Brothers once again and written by Christopher Markus & Stephen

They go onto reveal that Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as the Mighty Avenger Thor in Thor 3 officially titled Thor: Ragnarok! Also it is revealed that Tom Hiddleston will indeed return as Loki for the three-quel.
"This is a very important movie for us in Phase 3. We plan on taking Thor to another level. It picks up where we leave Thor in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and impacts everything that comes after."

Which Heroes Will Appear in 'Captain America 3' During 'Civil War?

Today Marvel destroyed the internet by revealing that Marvel's Civil War will be coming to the big screen in some type of cinematic incarnation in Captain America 3. This comes with the announcement that Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man will co-star in the film alongside Chris Evan's Captain America. Now, Badass Digest has dropped some hints regarding both Captain America 3 and well as The Avengers 3 which will be hugely connected. First off we already heard by the end of Age of Ultron Captain America is expected to have a new team well now they have some names that will join his team (unknown if it's the West Coast Avengers or not)
"the team is Falcon, War Machine, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Black Widow, as well as probably The Vision... [but] I have been told Black Widow will not be much of a presence in Cap 3."

This is interesting consider War Machine (Don Cheadle) and Vision (Paul Bettany) are so closely connected to Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr). Something else that is unknown is whether Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Luke Cage (Yet to-be-announced) will be apart of Steve Rogers "Underground Avengers" because they both do share large roles in the comic. Another hero that has a prominent role in the Civil War story is Hank Pym's close friend Goliath who is also one of the "Size Changing" heroes like Ant-Man, Yellow Jacket and Wasp. Of course Marvel could switch out Goliath for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) which would make Cyborg-Thor killing Lang that much more heart breaking given Ant-Man will hit next summer as well and Lang was already dead by the time of Civil War in the comics.Or could simply have Hank Pym sacrifice himself.

There are a slew of other heroes that are in the Civil War storyline that have large roles including Thor, Spider-Man, Reed Richards & Sue Storm, Namor and The Punisher. We already know Sue Storm & Reed Richards will be off limits (via FOX) for this storyline but you could switch them out for Hank Pym (Micheal Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne who is allegedly "missing" during the events of Ant-Man. The Punisher has had numerous Easter eggs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but has yet to be cast in a movie or Netflix show. We also have heard rumors that Speedball of the New Warriors is expected to appear on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D which kicks off the whole "Superhuman Registration Act" in the first place.

Thor however is not going to die by the time of Captain America 3 hits theaters because Chris Hemsworth still has one more solo film left in his contract. What Marvel could do however is have a way of mind-controlling Thor instead of having him die then building Cyber-Thor as seen in the comics. Which would be a simple solution. Namor will be tricky since it's unknown if Marvel has gotten him back from Universal or both company's co own the character.
Lastly, comes the Spider-Man dilemma. He is single handily one of most important characters in the Civil War storyline. As every fan knows Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) is currently over at Sony Pictures and has a universe of his own that is in way connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then came just last week's rumblings that Sony was reaching out to Marvel to some how co-own the character. With Civil War now announced....could Marvel be seriously considering a deal with Sony to bring on Spider-Man into this conflict that will change the MCU forever?!

Was 'The Punisher' Suppose to Cameo in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'?

During an escape attempt by Nick Fury from undercover Hydra agents hiding themselves as SHIELD agents a well timed Penske truck smashes into a police car. Another time when evil Agent Sitwell is thrown from the car with Steve, Sam and Natasha he two also hits a Penske truck. Well co-director Joe Russo confirms (via Coming Soon) the driver of the both trucks is the same guy without giving a name:
"The man who drives that truck," Joe deadpans, joking that the driver is a candidate for a future Marvel One-Shot, "Is very highly trained. He thinks on his own terms. He's got a plan and a very specific skill set."
While making a Taken joke many have theorized that this could have been our first actual cameo from The Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Marvel got the rights back from him. This actually wouldn't be his first reference. It has been shown that some of the mobsters directly related to his family's murder is in prison alongside Justin Hammer and Trevor Slattery as seen in the Marvel One-Shot All Hail The King.
Some are also hoping The Punisher makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming gritty Daredevil Netflix series currently shooting and debuting this May. Lets just hope they get Thomas Jane back as Frank Castle after the amazing job he did on the short film Dirty Laudry back in 2012.

Robert Downey Jr. & Chris Evans Talk About Passing on The Mantles

Robert Downey Jr recently spoke with Variety in Toronto for his most recent film The Judge. But of course the questions changed and he was asked about if Marvel was considering another Iron Man film since they have several untitled films yet to be announced through 2020 "There isn’t one in the pipe. No, there’s no plan for a fourth ‘Iron Man.'"When asked if he would allow another play Tony Stark much like Batman or James Bond he laughs off the idea:“I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I’m casting director for Marvel,” People seem to think that because an Iron Man film isn't coming out every several years that he will cease to exist in the marvel Cinematic Universe. But no one ever said that Robert can't pop up as Tony Stark in future Marvel films in a simple cameo? Now before you think that would go against his final "appearance" clause in his Marvel contract before or after Avengers 3 keep in mind Chris Evans did a cameo in Thor: The Dark World as Captain America and it didn't count on his contract obligations.
Speaking of Chris Evans he was also asked by MTV News if he would allow another to take up the shield of Captain America like Bucky Barns or even Falcon in which he replied
“Who’s handing off the shield? Don’t take my job from me prematurely dude. I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I’m really happy playing the character.”

The Russo Brothers Talk Scrapped "Hawkeye" Role for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
As we all know by now, Hawkeye was supposed to be in the lineup for Captain America: The Winter Soldier but was later written out leaving questions for fans. Now, The Russo Brothers have come forward giving details as to why he was cut and how much impact he would have on the final cut of the film.
"We had great stuff for him actually in the film,"
"He had a couple of really cool scenes in the movie. It’s a big movie as it is, so it certainly helped that it’s not in there. I think it would increase the running time by about 10 or 15 minutes if they were in the movie, just because you want the right amount of time to actually treat those scenes properly. I think it was a scheduling issue."

Will 'Hawkeye' Appear in 'Captain America 3' ?!

Several months ago Captain America: The Winter Soldier writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley revealed to CinemaBlend where Hawkeye the Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D was during the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. They reveal that he was originally in the script but they decided that they already had to many characters with the introduction of Falcon as well as a larger Black Widow story. Hawkeye himself Jeremy Renner has since revealed that in The Avengers: Age of Ultron it will be revealed where he was the entire time during The Winter Soldier.
Well, now Jeremy Renner has spoken with Collider and hinted that Hawkeye (Who will play a bigger role in Age of Ultron) might also possibly appear in Captain America 3!
"There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man (laughs). I’m trying to stay home and I can’t."Superhero! Hype then went directly to the returning directors of Captain America 3 Anthony & Joe Russo who then give an extremely vague answer about Hawkeye appearing in Captain America's next installment:
"There are certainly characters that Cap is close to or has a strong relationship with that would make sense appearing in his films. I think that’s all we can say about it."

Has DC Blinked?! 'Batman v Superman' Moves Up Its Release Date In The United Kingdom

The ongoing battle between Marvel and DC may have come to a draw of sorts. Captain America 3 and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have both claimed May 6th, 2016 as their date to be released. Seriously creating every fanboys dream but every investors nightmare. I literal Marvel vs DC battle. Well, it seems DC has blinked and decided to move their date for Batman v Superman but in the United Kingdom only. In the August issue of Empire Magazine (Stationed in the UK) they claim that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has moved up to April 29th, 2016 from their May release. This move was long speculated by fans for a very longtime so it's no surprise:
This is not the only secret that Empire Magazine has let slip. In another issue they also confirm the long hinted at rumor that Jason Momoa is indeed Aquaman! But we all knew that for months....

SDCC'14: Captain America's Broken Shield Displayed at Comic-Con
Today at SDCC, Marvel just unveiled another prop from Avengers: Age Of Ultron. This is something we already knew based on the footage description (which you can read here), Captain America's shield has been heavily damaged. Now we're not talking minor scratches here, we are talking about actual cracks on the shield itself. Check it out below..

What?! I know right? Steve's shield is made of vibranium which is one of the strongest metals on earth. So seeing it like that one would assume that whatever came in contact with that shield is a lot more powerful. I guess we'll find out May 1st, 2015 who or what caused the damage to Cap's shield.

Kevin Feige Once Again States 'Captain America 3' Will Not Move For 'Batman v Superman'

If you think 2015 is going to be huge with Fantastic Four, Terminator: Genesis, The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars coming out all in the same year just wait until 2016. With Warcraft and X-Men: Apocalypse coming out nothing will be as big as May 6th., 2016. Still as of today a battle of the ages will commence between Marvel's Captain America 3 as well as DC's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Many bloggers and film reporters swear up and down that one company either Marvel Studios or Warner Brothers will blink and move their mega movie off that date to save from the massive losses each movie will make when battling each other at the box office. Now granted Marvel Studios had picked that date over a year ago and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige once again assures fans Marvel will not blink:
I don’t think it is quite far to say DC is finally getting their act together. The Dark Knight movies were rather successful and genre-defining, they altered the genre in big ways. So I think there has always been competition that way. I mean Iron Man was the number one movie of 2008 until The Dark Knight came along, and I loved it, frankly. I love that the number 1 and the number 2 movies of that year, and it has happened a number of times since then, being comic-book movies, even if it wasn’t one we made. Here we are now, 14 years since the first Marvel movie I worked on. At that point it had been eight years and for about those eight years people had been asking ‘How much longer is this gonna last?’ ‘When are people gonna get tired of these movies? And my answer always was ‘People only get tired if a whole slew of terrible ones come out’. And it was our job to make sure that doesn’t happen. If there are other people out there interested in that not happening as well, I’m all for it!
So I continue to be all for quality entertainment for moviegoers to enjoy on weekends. If it is on the same weekend I enjoy it slightly less. But we are doing what we’ve always done, which is sticking to our plan and sticking to our vision for the movies going forward and we have a very large vision that we’re working on for Cap 3 and for all the “threes” movies and just because another movie plops down onto one of ours doesn’t mean we are going to alter that. Maybe we should, but we’re not going to.

As a film fan we could not be happier. A literal Marvel vs DC battle of the ages! In the immortal words Dr. Ishiro Serizawa in 2014's Godzilla....
Let them fight....

'Guardians of the Galaxy' May Get a Franchise After-All!

Today Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke about Marvel's upcoming space adventure Guardians of the Galaxy (via Comic Book Movie) as well as confirming Captain America 3's release date for 2016. He mentions that Guardians of the Galaxy was just screened last week and has a very strong possibility in being a full franchise:
"This August 1st, we’re looking forward to introducing the world to more fantastic Marvel storytelling, with a great cast of new characters in Guardians of the Galaxy, which we screened last week and we believe it has strong franchise potential,"He then goes onto talk about the interesting date battle between marvel and DC. Currently Captain America 3 and Batman vs Superman both are going to open May 6th, 2016 which Bob Iger confirms Marvel still plans on releasing their film:
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier has far surpassed the first Captain America in total global box office, which obviously bodes well for our Avengers franchise," said Robert Iger. "We’ve had enormous success releasing Marvel movies on the first weekend of May, including the two biggest domestic openings of all time. And we’ll continue this tradition with the Avengers Age of Ultron next year and Captain America 3 in 2016. Avengers Age of Ultron is currently shooting an early footage and looks great."He then lastly mentions the ever growing success of Marvel's recent films. From Captain America: The Winter Soldier to the upcoming Avengers sequel. He does admit he doesn't expect Guardians of the Galaxy to make "Avengers" money but that's certainly a goal:
"Marvel is, as far as we're concerned, is just getting started. The results of Captain America, though I think are very, very telling, because when you look at the film that is approaching almost $700 million in global box office, I think $680 million, and you compare that to Captain America 1, which did under $400 million worldwide and even look at it versus Thor movies, a few of the Iron Man movies, you're looking at a film that has actually done substantially better than a lot of the Marvel films that we put out. Now, it was a great film, but it's clear that momentum is building for that franchise and with Avengers 2 in production and coming up and characters from Avengers still very much in favor with audiences, I think there is huge potential there. In addition to that, we've got a new film, Guardians of the Galaxy coming out August 1 in the United States this summer, which we've seen, I mentioned in my comments. We feel quite good about that too. That's a whole other Marvel realm or universe in terms of where it takes place, the characters that populate it and the stories that you can tell for those characters. So, I think, I'm not going to predict that we've got another Avengers on our hands, but that's certainly the goal."
