'The Godfather' Himself Al Pacino Has Met With Marvel Studios

Several months ago academy-award winner Al Pacino revealed that while he isn't completely into the huge blockbuster movies he has happened to really like Marvel Studios films. Specifically pointing out Iron Man and most recently Guardians of the Galaxy. And when asked if he would ever do a Marvel film he said he would love to. Well it seems he may soon to get his wish. While on MTV's Josh Horwitzs Happy Sad Confused Podcast the godfather himself revealed that he has met with the "Marvel guy" and when pressed if that was Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige the actor said: "Yeah. I would imagine that either there's something he feels is right for me and if I feel-" before pretending he was called by Feige to shutup and stop talking:
(Around the 22:00 min Mark)
With other great actors like Glenn Close and Michael Douglas already apart of the ever growing Marvel universe it's not hard to imagine a Al Pacino popping up somewhere down the line?

— Caleb Williams (@KnightGambit) September 18, 2014Orlando Bloom & Shailene Woodley Want a Crack at 'Marvel Studios'

Getting a gig at Marvel Studios seems to be on every actors bucket list in this day and age. 10 years ago you couldn't say that about being apart of a comic book franchise but things have certainly changed. Two actors in particular who want a crack at the Marvel goldmine is none other then hearthrob Shailene Woodley and Legolas himself Orlando Bloom. While promoting the third and final installment in the Middle-Earth sage The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies a fan asked Orlando Bloom if he would ever be interested in making a Marvel Studios movie :
Now on the opposite side of the spectrum The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent star Shailene Woodley was also asked if she would ever do a comic book movie again after having her scenes axed in The Amazing Spider-Man 2:
"I would love to be in a superhero movie if it was Marvel. Their movies are so much fun to watch. They take you on a ride. I love how they’re all interconnected.” “I respond to independent films when I watch movies, because I love to feel affected on a very human, stripped level, but there’s something about going to those big blockbuster films where you watch people fly across the sky and have long stretchy arms and supernatural powers… it’s a form of escapism. It’s like reading a very fictional book. I enjoy it."

Over the past few months, since the film’s release, I have heard a lot about Amazing Spider-Man 2. I have heard a lot of good things from the general audience, kids, teenagers, and adults alike, but from the comic book community I've heard about 75% bad & just plain nasty (and unnecessary) comments about the film, and quite honestly I’m getting sick of it. So seeing as how there’s all this new news about the franchise (Sinister Six, Venom, and an unknown female character all getting their own spin-off films before Amazing Spider-Man 3 in 2018) and the film coming out on Blu-Ray/DVD in two weeks, I thought that I would write up an article explaining my frustrations with these “haters” and expressing my love for the film and this new franchise.
The comments I've read and continue to see around the internet about Amazing Spider-Man 2go like this:
“That film is complete and utter shit!”
“That movie has crappy dialogue and I didn't care about any of the characters or subplots!
“I hated the first one so I didn't even bother seeing the second one because it’s complete shit like I said it would be.”
“I hated the first one so I didn't even bother seeing the second one because it’s complete shit like I said it would be.”
These comments go on and on and on and they're all the same.
To be completely honest, I LOVE The Amazing Spider-Man 2! In fact, I'm almost to the point where I truly believe that it is the BEST Spider-Man film out there, including Sam Raimi's beloved Spider-Man 2. As someone whose favorite superhero consists of three superheroes, them being Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man, I’m slightly biased and will defend each of these heroes until the day that I die. However, I don’t defend works like Superman III, Batman & Robin, and/or Spider-Man 3; therefore I truly do believe that Amazing Spider-Man 2 is being mistreated.
As I continue on with this little tangent I want to go through each aspect of the film that people have problems with, including costume, characters, music/score, subplots, and so on. These are the parts of the film that I truly enjoy and want to defend as I see not only a lot of mindless/thoughtless hate for them, but just plain disrespect.
The Costume: Believe it or not I have heard complaints about the suit from Amazing Spider-Man 2… I honestly don’t even know how to respond to these people who make these complaints; I mean really it’s the most ridiculous thing you could complain about with this movie. Spider-Man’s suit in The Amazing Spider-Man I can understand people complaining about (to an extent), and people did! And Sony/Marvel heard you, so they decided to give Spider-Man a suit that looked… Wait for it… EXACTLY like the comic book version of the suit!!! (Minus the logo, but that’s to be expected with it being the new franchise logo and all). Spidey's costume in this film leaps directly out of the pages of the original Stan Lee/Steve Ditko Amazing Spider-Man comics as well as the Brian Michael Bendis’ Ultimate Spider-Man books! I mean, I don’t understand why the hate! During the Raimi trilogy, people complained that the eyes were silver and not white, during the first in the Marc Webb franchise people complained that his eyes were yellow/gold and not big enough. Now, with the eyes being white and large, people still complain about this suit!!! I mean seriously? Comic book movies are called “adaptions” for a reason… The Dark Knight, The Avengers, Man of Steel, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and even Watchmen aren't all EXACTLY “comics accurate” (some are really close, and others are further away)! So why is Spider-Man expected to be 100% comics accurate as well?
The Characters: This is also one I truly don’t understand… What’s wrong with the characters exactly? Aunt May is just like the version we see in the Ultimate Universe. She’s some-what tech-savvy, she’s modern, she’s a bit younger, and she keeps secrets like every other woman her age on the planet. She’s like any other adoptive mother who just wants her child to love her for who she is and what she’s done for him/her and not to worry about their birth parents. I mean how is that bad characterization when that’s how people in our world today are? Speaking of, what’s wrong with characters like Peter Parker or Gwen Stacey? I've heard the argument that Peter is “too cool”, but you see that he has problems talking to girls, he’s a nerd, he’s bullied at school (by Flash Thompson, as seen in the first film), he loses the girl of his dreams because of guilt and is still in love with her, and I could go on. Although this version of Peter tries to make it look like everything’s okay by looking “cool”, you can see that he has some serious issues! I mean, his girlfriend dies because his best friend kills her! None of this is bad characterization; this is just Peter Parker’s life! This is how Stan Lee originally created the character, to have terrible luck, to have ups and downs, to be awkward around girls and other people, to be a normal human being! Andrew Garfield plays this perfectly and shows every human side of Peter Parker, and then shows the larger-than-life side of Spider-Man, funny quips and all!
Now with Gwen, I can’t imagine anyone having a problem with her in this film because she was perfect. From her writing to her portrayal by Emma Stone, she was just brilliant in this film. The chemistry between Peter and Gwen in this film is incredible! “That’s just because Garfield and Stone are dating in real life.” Yes, but no. It’s because they’re both brilliant actors. Stone is that way with everyone she’s on screen with in other films as well. As for Garfield, his chemistry with Stone is rivaled by his chemistry with Sally Field’s Aunt May, who he shares just as heartfelt scenes with. Not to mention the scenes between Peter and Harry, between Spider-Man and Electro, and between Spider-Man and the kid at the end of the film. I mean, Garfield just knows how to play the stage! Now, as for all the dialogue that people complain about, here's the thing, that's how teens/young adults talk nowadays! We make jokes all the time, we are awkward when talking to girls or other people we don't know, we can be sappy romantics and we can be unaware of our surroundings. Yes, Peter is at the extreme end of that spectrum, I know I'm not like that all the time, but he's definitely representing the modern generation through the way he talks, as is Harry and Gwen. Gwen when she gives her Valedictorian speech where she's the voice of reason and Harry on his pursuit to live longer and not miss anything. This film is almost, quite honestly, a social commentary on the side!
Now, I can admit that the character of Max Dillon was a bit strange, but almost all of Spider-Man’s villains in the comics are just about that sick in the head. I mean, has there been one villain in ANY Spider-Man film yet who hasn't talked to themselves in a way that would make Gollum cringe? The answer is “no”. And I can also admit that Harry jumping from not getting Spider-Man’s blood to being the Green Goblin was also a bit of a stretch, but you also have to realize how psychotic the Osborn family is, both in film, animation, and comics! Harry was in a desperate situation and if you ask yourself the question, “how far would you go to save your life?” I guarantee that there wouldn't be an answer, because most people would do anything. Harry just had the resources to do more than most would, and in-so-doing that made himself insane to the point where he went after Spider-Man, and on some level won.
On the subject of Harry, I've heard a lot of complaints from people saying that Peter and Harry becoming friends again after around a decade of not seeing each other is a stretch and too “unbelievable”… Well first of all you’re watching a movie about a guy who got bit by a spider which gave him superpowers, but okay… Secondly, I had a friend back in 6th grade that I was best friends with, but about halfway through 7th grade we split because I got together with a girl and he got new friends. It was stupid, but hey that’s middle school. We went to the same high school and said “hi” whenever we saw each other, but it wasn't until second semester senior year (about 6 years later) where we were on the same school trip to Israel (which was amazing by the way), and then we hit it off again and are now, once again, best friends. I mean, yes, it’s somewhat a stretch for Peter and Harry to be friends again after that much time, but if we’re to believe that they were good friends as kids, and from what is explained in the film they were, then it’s really not that big of a stretch for them to hit it off again after all that time. My Mom still hits it off with people she went to high school with when she hasn't seen them in twenty years, this is just how some people work!
None of the characters in this film are done injustice, even Rhino is set up from the beginning and comes full-circle as a villain by the end, though some are definitely sidelined for others, but that’s honestly okay. That’s movies for you!
The Music/Score: I have heard many complaints about the score to this film, not as much about the actual music used, but certainly about the score. Let me start this section off by saying that I believe Amazing Spider-Man 2 has one of the best movie soundtracks I've heard. From the score music on the track to the songs used, including “It’s On Again” by Alicia Keys, I cannot get enough. Originally when I saw Amazing Spider-Man 2 I walked out of the theater with my only complaint being the score. I had said to my good friend Dan Schmidt (of Across the Airwaves Productions) that I thought they did a great job with the dubstep part of the score mashing with Electro, but I didn't think they had a strong enough Spidey theme like James Horner's from the first film. Well, after a second viewing of the movie in the theaters and then buying the deluxe edition soundtrack to the film, I have changed my mind. In early June I drove out here to Montana from Chicago with my friend Jonathan (I was moving from Chicago to Montana where I’m going to be going to college in a few weeks), and on the whole two day drive from there to here we listened to the Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack on repeat and fell in love with it. If you play one track from the soundtrack now I can tell you which track it is and when it plays in the film. The use of music in the film is also outstanding! From “Song for Zula” during Peter and Gwen’s not-date before Electro attacks to “Gone Gone Gone” by Phillip Phillips when Peter is putting his wall together before he realizes he needs Gwen… I mean, really, the use of these songs (and others, especially during the end credits) was great! I’m just mad that “Gone Gone Gone”, now one of my favorites, is the one song from the film that I really, really liked that isn't on the soundtrack!
But onto the score complaints from the audience…
“Hans Zimmer… What the [REDACTED] happened?”
Well, I’ll tell you what happened; Hans Zimmer didn't do this score on his own (which I believe is a good thing)! His scores for The Dark Knight(with James Newton Howard) and Man of Steel were brilliant and fit their characters/story perfectly, his score here, where he’s joined by the creative talents of the Magnificent Six, Pharrell Williams, and Johnny Marr, is just as good and fits the characters in this film, as well as the story and tone, perfectly.
“I don’t like the score because it tries to tell me how to feel during the movie…”
Umm, excuse me, but isn't that what a score is supposed to do? The whole reason the score of a film, TV show, or video game is there is so that you feel something and so that you’re invested in what’s going on! Take horror movies for example, without the creepy piano music in the background, you wouldn't know the feel scared, or in The Dark Knight Rises when Bruce is climbing out of the pit and you have the epic score with the drums beating and the prisoners chanting, that’s supposed to make you feel empowered, larger than life, and it works! Amazing Spider-Man 2’s score did the exact same thing! It made you feel heroic when you heard the little Spidey tune (listen to the “I’m Spider-Man” and “I Need To Know” tracks on the score for a sample of that, then listen to the rest of the score as its heard throughout, “You’re That Spider-Guy” especially), it made you feel emotional whenever the Peter/Gwen theme came on (“I’m Moving to England”, “I Choose You”, “Let Her Go”, “We’re Best Friends”), and you felt a little fear whenever Electro or Goblin’s themes played (“I’m Electro”, “My Enemy”, “I’m Goblin”, “Sum Total”). I mean, that’s how scores work! Yes, the score for this movie was fairly “mainstream”, yes it was very “modern”, but Spider-Man is a character that, while he never changes, adapts to the culture surrounding him! I mean, he couldn't be stuck in the 60’s forever, and teenagers/young adults today (I would know) are much different than they were back in 2002! Spider-Man changes with the times, and thus so must his score.
The Story:
“No one cares about Peter’s parents…”
“The movie is just so convoluted, there’s too much going on.”
“The ending sucked!”
These are just a few of the complaints I've heard about the story and subplots in Amazing Spider-Man 2, and if you've read this far (first off I commend you, and thank you) please bear with me just a little longer, I promise I’m almost done. First of all, most of the questions you've been asking yourself since the first film are answered here in its sequel. It’s explained why Peter’s parents had to leave, it’s explained why Peter has powers because of the spiders and other people don’t, it’s explained why Norman Osborn is dying, and it’s explained why Doctor Connors cut off communication with Peter after Richard and Mary left! All of these answers are given to you, so I don’t want to hear about there still being a ton of un-answered questions, there’s not. Now, with my theory that Norman Osborn is still alive, there could be some questions there, but for the sake of this film he’s dead by the 45 minute mark (it might be later, but I honestly don’t remember, I’m watching it again next week when I get it on Blu-Ray).
As for there being too much going on, how do you mean? The only story-line that seems somewhat out of place is Electro's to be honest, and there’s good reason for that. The reason I like that Electro's story in this film feels out of place is because it adds another layer of conflict and inconvenience to Peter Parker’s life. You see, the plot with him finding out about his parents, his relationship with Gwen, and being Spider-Man are all continuations of what we saw in The Amazing Spider-Man. Harry’s introduction in the film, as well as Norman’s supposed death, also fit into the context of this mythology and story because Oscorp and the Osborn’s are a part of that already-established story. Even Rhino’s introduction at the beginning (stealing from Oscorp, so there’s that connection as well) to his introduction as the Rhino at the end (also a part of the Oscorp story as we see the man from the end of the first film who talked with Connors) is a part of the Spider-Man story established in the first film with Captain Stacey’s “you’re going to make enemies” line. It’s ALL CONNECTED except for Electro! (Who is still slightly connected anyway).
Electro is different; he’s special because he reminds us that the “little guy”, the “normal person”, is also affected by this crazy world that Oscorp has initiated onto New York City. Max Dillon is a nobody; someone who Spider-Man just saves along his way (again, part of the Spidey plotline started in the last film) and doesn't give another thought to. Someone who has a simple job at Oscorp; someone who no one really likes or pays any special attention to; someone who’s just lost in the fold of people that is New York City. And then, all of a sudden, his life changes forever because of an accident. All of a sudden, he FORCES himself into the story. He re-writes the script and forces himself to be a part of it. How many times has that happened in Spider-Man comics? The answer: constantly! Everything in this story was perfectly crafted by Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci (Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, Fringe, Sleepy Hollow, Watchmen, Transformers, Mission: Impossible III, etc.) and not only did service to us fans, but the comics and source material as well. As usual, they tied everything together and wrapped it up with a nice bow, while getting us pumped for their, eventual, upcoming third installment of the franchise (as well as Sinister Six, which is directly set up at the end of the film, and Venom).
As for peoples problems with the ending, it took Peter seven months to move on from Gwen's death, that's ample time. As for why they didn't just leave it with Gwen's death?... It's because that's not who Spider-Man is. Although Spider-Man goes through a lot of crap and sees a lot of death in his life, he's still an optimist, he still brings people hope, and THAT'S what you see at the end of Amazing Spider-Man 2, you see Peter bringing hope back to New York as Spider-Man returns to save the day from Rhino. We didn't need to see the full fight, we know who's going to win, we just need to remember that Spider-Man is back and he's out there, despite all the foes that will stand in his way.
The Mythology: This is my last point that is going to talk about the source material used in this film. Almost everything in this film is based somewhat on something from a version of Spider-Man in the comics, much like The Dark Knight Trilogy used “No Man’s Land”, “Knightfall”, “Year One”, “The Long Halloween” from the Batman comics or Man of Steel borrowed from “Birthright”, “Earth One”, “All-Star Superman”, “For Tomorrow”, and “Secret Origins”.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 takes the Richard Parker being a “spy” and carrying around government secrets right out of the comics (“Spider-Man: Unmasked”). Though Richard is only framed by the men from Oscorp as a spy, he’s really a scientist just like his Ultimate Universe counterpart and, like in this film series, has a connection to Curt Connors and Norman Osborn (“Ultimate Spider-Man”). While Peter having a genetic marker in his blood that allows his spider abilities to work once he’s bitter by a genetically enhanced spider is an original concept (at least to my knowledge), it’s always been true in the comics that Peter has always been afraid to give his blood to others because he doesn't know what would happen to them. In fact, when his Aunt May lied dying in an older issue of Amazing Spider-Man, Peter almost didn't give her his radioactive blood because he thought it might kill her. As we see when Harry gets hold of the spider’s venom (which had not been mixed with the genetic marker that is Peter’s blood), we see that it has terrible effects which create the Green Goblin.
We also see the relationship between Peter and Gwen develop as seen in the original Amazing Spider-Man comics’ first 121 issues as well as Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s “Spider-Man: Blue”, only to be taken apart by the Green Goblin (this time Harry Osborn, who has also been the Goblin in the comics, though not before Norman) Ala “The Night Gwen Stacey Died”. Though Norman Osborn is normally responsible for this act, and though it normally takes place on the bridge (which we see Peter and Gwen have a touching moment on before her death, another nod to the comics), we see that the writers changed the killer to Harry to make the death more personal, while still making it because of a Goblin (as well as a failed web-line…).
We also see Electro as a lowly “worker-bee” (as is usually the case with him in all his comic interpretations) before he gets his powers, then after he gets his powers in a “freak accident” he becomes even more deranged, psychotic, and angry, much like his first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #9 as well as in the Ultimate Universe. We also get to see Alistair Smythe as Electro's supervisor at Oscorp, and for you spider-fans out there you know that he’s the son of the creator of the original Spider Slayers and continues his father’s legacy, even becoming the Ultimate Spider Slayer himself.
Then there’s the Sinister Six. The Gentleman we see at the end of Amazing Spider-Man, and then again at the end of Amazing Spider-Man 2, is named Gustav Fiers who is actually not from the comics, though he is a main character in Adam-Troy Castro’s Sinister Six novel trilogy that includes “Gathering of the Sinister Six”, “Secrets of the Sinister Six”, and “Revenge of the Sinister Six”, where Fiers not only assembles the Sinister Six together, but also is partially responsible for the death of Richard and Mary Parker, making the mythology of this franchise so much more interesting. We see in the credits that Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Rhino, Chameleon, Vulture, and Kraven the Hunter seem to be this incarnation of the Six (sad not to see Mysterio in live action, but maybe one day; Sandman’s already been done), which not only sets up the Sinister Six film, but also Amazing Spider-Man 3!
Clearly as you can see, a lot of this film is inspired by the Spider-Man mythology that already exists, yet it twists it and crafts it to make it its own, while adding new things to the story to make the Amazing Spider-Man Cinematic Universe something to be excited about and cheer on. I know that’s what I’m doing, especially with Alex Kurtzman overseeing it (as well as the Universal Monster-Movie Universe)!
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
There’s more of course that I could write about to show people why Amazing Spider-Man isn't just a great film, great superhero/comic book film, and a great Spider-Man film, but I’m getting tired and I have a feeling that if people aren't going to listen to what I've already stated loud-and-clear, they won’t listen at all, and that’s fine. At the end of the day, all that I care about is that I continue to enjoy and support this franchise, and I do; I hope you all feel the same way!

Last week Marvel Studios announced planes for 5 brand new and one already announced untitled marvel feature films going through 2019. Well they must have forgot to announce on top of all those dates another film slated May 4th, 2018. This would give Marvel 3 films a year in 2017 and 2018.

Untitled Marvel (7/8/16) :: Most likely Doctor Strange ::
Untitled Marvel (5/5/17)

It seems they aren't scared of DC's suppose lineup that has yet to even be officially announced....they really are moving forward with three films a year! Lets hope Marvel gives us some of these titles at San Diego Comic-Con later this week. We also like to point out that Robert Downey Jr has expressed some tiny interest in another Iron Man flick....May 2018 would make it 10 years since the first Iron Man movie.

Marvel Announces 5 Untitled Movie Release Dates Slated Through 2019

Well, isn't this just a pre-San Diego Comic Con treat. Today, Marvel has announced a slew of release dates for untitled movies all the way through 2019!
Look forward to new films hitting theaters July 28 and November 3, 2017; July 6 and November 2, 2018; and May 3, 2019This is already on top of Captain America 3 on May 6th, 2016 and most likely Doctor Strange on July 6th, 2016. With May 5th, 2017 still also being untitled on top of these new 5. Now while we don't know the titles for these movies many films have been rumored to be made at Marvel including Thor 3 which is currently in outline format. As well as Black Panther, The Inhumans and even a Runaways script that has been shelved. Others could include a Black Widow, Loki or Hulk spin -off solo flicks or even a Ms. Marvel movie since she's been rumored to be in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Also if Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man do good expect a sequel to those films. With Guardians of the Galaxy rumored to be teaming up with The Hulk as a possibility. Of course one of the films slated will be The Avengers 3.
Really the potential at Marvel Studios is limitless......Maybe just maybe Marvel will announce the titles to a few of these movies at Comic-Con next week? One can only hope.
Your move DC....

RUMOR: 'Batman vs Superman' Moving Away From Marvel in 2016
Literally a day ago Marvel Head honcho Kevin Feige firmly announced that their still untitled Marvel film will not be moving away from that May 6th, 2016 release date. This so happens to be the same exact day DC decided to move their mega blockbuster Batman vs Superman onto. Well now it seems things may have changed...
According to Judao Brazil it seems Warner Bros Brazil has made suggestions that Batman vs Superman will move up one week to April 28th or 29th, 2016. Of course they add that it has yet to be finalized but that the US release would also move up a week.
This could be huge or disastrous for the age ole battle between Marvel and DC. Again, take it as a rumor until an official announcement occurs.

Marvel's Not Moving Away From 'Batman vs Superman' in 2016
And the battle of wits has begun. Last June Marvel announced an untitled Marvel film was going to hit May 6th, 2016. Everything was just dandy for Marvel . Then DC decided to move their mega blockbuster Batman vs Superman from July 2015 all the way right onto their date in May.
Many assumed Marvel would steer clear of that date given that they would be going up against the biggest superheros in the past century Batman, Superman and now Wonder Woman. While today during the press junket for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige announced that they aren't going anywhere:
We’re certainly keeping the date there and we’ll announce what that movie is, I assume, in the next few months.SlashFilm went to push Feige on when exactly. He admits it maybe during Comic Con if not before:
That would be great, I’d love nothing more than to be able to announce them all there. But if it’s ready beforehand, we’ll probably do it beforehand. If it’s not ready then, we’ll do it after. Many also presume that the untitled Marvel film will indeed be for Doctor Strange given that talks have begun with directors for Marvel's next pet project. But lets be honest here.....Sorcerer Supreme going up against DC's Trinity....is suicide.
Looks like Marvel & DC are going to play a game of chicken for that May 6, 2016 release date. Feige told me they ain't moving
— ErikDavis (@ErikDavis) March 12, 2014The Goddamn Batman ain't moving from May 6th, 2016.

Marvel has released more footage of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The four minute video shows some great footage of Captain America, The Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and The Falcon using their powers and abilities in ways that remain true to the comics. It is good to see that Black Widow will be taking full advantage of her gauntlets considering their limited use in The Avengers.

FANTASTIC FOUR Director Josh Trank Debunks Rumoured Synopsis
![]() |
| Image Credit: Comic Vine |
Fantastic Four. While the actors/actresses who were going in for roles were not unheard of (all were previously rumoured) the sheet included a synopsis for the film. Chronicle director, Josh Trank, who will also direct this adaption of Marvel's first superhero team, has tweeted regarding the synopsis. The rumoured synopsis had Reed Richards becoming a genius AFTER the events that turn him into Mr. Fantastic which would enrage many fans, like myself. As I mentioned on my Twitter account, that synopsis was from two to three months ago, before Simon Kinberg was brought in to rewrite the script. My info was backed up by the film's director, Josh Trank, when he took too Twitter to say the synopsis is "definitely not the synopsis or anything close to the synopsis. i don't know who put that out." While this may be a sigh of relief for some fans, a lot of people are still bummed that Fox are making another Fantastic Four film and believe Marvel should have the rights. Interestingly, the director has come out to debunk the rumoured synopsis, but he has been very quiet when it comes too the rumoured cast. The actors/actresses who went/are going in for a audition for Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic include: Miles Teller, Kit Harington and Richard Madden, and for Susan Storm/The Invisible Woman include: Kate Mara and Saoirse Ronan. So far, the only confirmed actor too be cast in a role is Michael B. Jordan, who (according too many) will portray Susan Storm's younger brother, Johnny Storm. Which would likely mean that Kate Mara will end up playing The Invisible Woman. According too multiple sources, the Four leads will be cast by the end of the month, hoping for a March 31st shooting. You can check out Trank's tweet below:
that synopsis is definitely not the synopsis or anything close to the synopsis. i don't know who put that out. byyee.

With anticipation building for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Total Film [Via CBM] have revealed seven brand new images from the new film. The images feature the characters, Spider-Man, Electro, Harry Osborn, The Rhino and Gwen Stacy. Interestingly some of these images show a little too much of the film (a problem that was evident with the first film). A couple of images that are sure to capture fan's attention the most out of these images is the scene between Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) and Harry Osborn (played by Dane DeHaan) and the image of Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy in the clock tower battle.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 or The Amazing Spider-Man: Rise Of Electro is set to hit theatres, April 17th.

If you were to tell me that Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot would not have been in my top 10 films of 2013 at the start of the year, I would consider you insane. But alas, the year is coming to a dramatic close, and with every end of year, comes the film critic’s lavish ‘Top 10 Films Of [enter year here]’. Because I am a movie fan, I feel as if it is right that I too have a ‘Top 10’ list. If you are looking for films such as Fast And The Furious or Man Of Steel, you will not find them here; instead you will find some of the most underrated, and some of the best films of 2013. Fasten your seatbelts; it is going to be a bumpy ride.
Every year has its animated film, and for 2013, it was none other than the Dreamworks film, The Croods. Featuring a stellar cast including Emma Stone, Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds, the film centres on caveman family as they go out of their comfort zone and travel away from their home. The film is heart warming and really makes you want to go give a big damn hug to your family, even your annoying ass brother. While I would have put Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University in this spot, after showing my six year old sister The Croods and seeing how much she enjoyed the film, I could not have, not placed the film on the list.
Starring perhaps two of Hollywood’s best working actors at the moment, those two being, George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron, the genius behind Children Of Men, Gravity tells the incredible story of a medical engineer and an astronaut and how the two survive when once an accident sends them adrift in space. Gravity shows how you can successfully blend action, drama, suspense and a visual orgasm into one amazing film. If you are stuck on what movie to watch tonight, either Gravity or Iron Man 3, definitely watch Gravity.
Number Eight – Pacific Rim
What happens when you attempt to make a Power Rangers film for a grown up audience? The amazing, groundbreaking and special film Pacific Rim. Showcasing what every guy dreams about at night, Pacific Rim combines two of the coolest things ever, robots and monsters, the outcome? Whatever you want it too be. While the acting may not be the best, when the film is at its best, it really is at its best. Michael Bay should take some notes for next year’s Transformers Age Of Extinction.
What do you get when you shove some of the best comedy actors, Biblical events and The Backstreet Boys? The second funniest movie of the year. This Is The End is f***ing hilarious, it really is. While I cannot say much about this film because I really would like to not spoil anything, if you have ever laughed at a Jonah Hill film, or have a soft spot of spoof films like Airplane! I recommend you watching the comedy masterpiece that is, This Is The End. Plus, The Backstreet Boys are still awesome.
The Spectacular Now was this year’s Perks Of Being A Wallflower, it really was, featuring some brilliant up and comers like Shailene Woodley, the actress who was supposed to portray Spider-Man character, Mary Jane Watson in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and rumoured The Fantastic Four star, Miles Teller. The film tells the ‘usual’ high school dramedy story, except this time, it’s not over done. The film manages to find a perfect place between ‘average high school movie’ and ‘instant classic high school movie’. The film centres on popular boy, Sutter as he falls for the shy, nice-girl, Aimee. While the film’s story may feel like a retelling of the John Cusack film, Say Anything, The Spectacular Now is one of the best films of the year, and you should definitely check it out!
Number Five – Only God Forgives
One of 2013’s most controversial films, Only God Forgives tells the story of drug-smuggler, Julian as he tracks down his brother’s murderer. The film marks the highly anticipated reunion of Drive director; Nicolas Winding Refn and Drive star Ryan Gosling. While many have complained about the “over the top” violence, the film is meant to be violent, it is very real, and is really the definition of a gritty film. Gosling says very little in this film (his character delivers 17 lines of dialogue) he still manages to engage the audience. If you loved Drive, you’ll love Refn’s latest film.
“WHHHHAAAAAAAMMMMMYYYYYYY!” It’s hard to believe it’s been nine, yes nine years, since Ron Burgundy and his news team first graced the silver screen. While those nine years of waiting have been rather long, and rather boring, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues makes all the waiting well worth it. The film is just magic; Ron Burgundy’s sudden loss of sight, Steve Carell’s Brick Tamland, everything about this film is just perfect. For fans of the first Anchorman film, this sequel defiantly lives up to the ridiculous expectations we all had, unlike another film this year cough *Man Of Steel* cough. But seriously, Paul Rudd needs to keep his ‘pornstache’ for Ant-Man.That is all. You stay classy now.
If you told me the latest instalment in the X-Men series would be the third best film of the year in my eyes at the start of 2013, I would have assumed you were joking. But here I stand; The Wolverine was arguably the best comic book film of the year and was one of the best films of the year in general. Featuring Hugh Jackman in the role that made him Hugh Jackman, the film tells a unique side to the superhero genre, swapping massive CGI effects for story and immense character development. While the film is action-packed, calling The Wolverine an action film definitely decreases its beauty. If you are a ‘Fox hater’ I recommend giving The Wolverine a shot, you never know, it might surprise you.
Sam Rockwell… My word. Never before have I felt that Iron Man 2 star, Sam Rockwell should have an Oscar sitting on his desk at home, but after watching The Way Way Back, I am demanding that the Academy give Rockwell the award he deserves. While Sam is brilliant in this coming of age story, the film’s focus is on young actor Liam James and his character, Duncan. Duncan is perhaps one of the most relatable characters put on the big screen this year (only to be beaten out by Ben Stiller’s Walter Mitty). Featuring a stellar cast including Maya Rudolph and Steve Carell, in a role that is very, very different for the latter. The Way Way Back is one of the year’s underrated gems.
2013’s best film the Ben Stiller feel good movie. The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty is the best film of the year for a number of reasons; the one reason that is evident throughout the entire film is how relatable Stiller’s Walter Mitty actually is. The dude is just downright relatable, he has trouble talking to Kristen Wiig’s Cheryl, and he is just everyone’s bitch. Because of Mitty’s relatable side, we as the audience are really sucked in; this is one of the reasons’ why critics are being very harsh on the film (47% on Rotten Tomatoes), some critics are really cold-hearted. Ben Stiller’s directing has increased dramatically since Zoolander, some of the shots in this film are seriously breathtaking. Perfectly blending comedy, drama and motivation, Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty reminds people that dreams are meant to be lived, a message that is not sent across enough in film today.
Thank you very much for reading this, I hope you all enjoyed this! If you have any film that didn’t make the list, but you feel should’ve made the list, chuck us a comment down below or tweet me @RobDogg_ and lets start a conversation! Have a happy New Year everyone, and lets all prey that Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 finds a place in next year’s ‘Top 10’. Please God… Pleas

OFFICIAL: Paul Rudd Is ANT-MAN
Its official, Marvel has finally released a press release finally confirming our speculation. Read below at the full details.
Marvel’s “Ant-Man” has found its hero in Paul Rudd, who will star in the new film from director Edgar Wright hitting theaters July 31, 2015!
The casting of Rudd represents the actor that Marvel had long ago identified as its first choice to play Ant-Man, continuing the studio’s desire to cast actors that bring several dimensions to its onscreen heroes. The film’s plot is being kept under wraps.
“When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studios film is finding the right star," said Marvel's Kevin Feige. "We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we’d ever met with about doing the work, we knew we’d found the right guy. We couldn’t be more excited for our audiences to see what he’s going to do to bring Ant-Man to life.”
Rudd brings a diverse background to the role having become one of the industry’s most known actors with a reputation for smart, funny and creative performances. Rudd can currently be seen in “Anchor Man 2: The Legend Continues,” as well as past roles in “Anchorman,” “This Is 40,” “I Love You, Man,” “Role Models,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Our Idiot Brother,” “Knocked Up,” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” among numerous other films, television shows and primetime animation.
In addition to “Ant-Man,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" on April 4, 2014; "Guardians of the Galaxy" on August 1, 2014; and "Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, 2015.

Once again I come to you to talk about one of the best inventions since VHS tapes: Netflix! This week, I'm going to reveal which 5 comic book characters I would like to see Netflix turn into a "Netflix Original" in the wake of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones getting their own series' which will merge with The Defenders. So let's start with pick Number 5!
5. Wonder Woman
My first pick is one of the top superheroes of the DC Universe: Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman has been around for over 70 years, has had a made-for-TV-movie, a live-action TV series, numerous comic books, and animated film, a part in numerous other animated films/series, and a few failed pilots as well. Although the demand for Wonder Woman is not as great as say, Batman, Superman, or Spider-Man (the three biggest superheroes out there), there most certainly is demand for Wonder Woman out there.
With Gal Gadot cast as Wonder Woman for the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film (which feels more like Justice League at this point), I doubt the character would ever make her way to Netflix, but I believe it would work better than a film. We've said it before and we'll say it again, in this day-and-age, a Wonder Woman film would not work, no matter how much we (myself included) would want it too. That being said, if a character like Jessica Jones is getting a Netflix series, how hard would it be for us to get one for Diana Prince?
In fact, if we only had Wonder Woman in team-up films and then had her on her own Netflix series, there would be no need for a movie, especially with all that Wonder Woman material right in front of our faces. Like I said, this'll most-likely never happen, but I think right now it would be Warner Brothers' best option for the character, specially with her 75th coming up in a few years...
4. The Incredible Hulk
Another character in high demand, and one who actually had a television series around the same time as Wonder Woman back in the day, The Incredible Hulk!
I love the Hulk. My first comic book was a Hulk comic and I will cherish it forever. As a Hulk fan, I hate/love certain aspects of Ang Lee's Hulk and I absolutely love The Incredible Hulk film. His role in The Avengers was fantastic, though I think that Edward Norton still makes a better Bruce Banner than Mark Ruffalo. Either way, the point is, I want more Hulk.
It doesn't look like we will be getting a new solo Hulk film any time soon. This means no answers to what became of the Leader, no more Hulk/Abomination fights, and never one reference to Rick Jones. This all being said, we're not getting a second (or third if you look at it that way) Hulk film, at least for the next Phase or two. So instead, seeming as the audience loves the character and Marvel was trying to launch a new Hulk show anyway, why not put the character on Netflix? You can cast someone else as Bruce Banner or stick with Ruffalo, it doesn't matter, but it would be a great way to flush out some new plot-lines with the character, including more with Betty Ross, more with Leonard Sampson and General Ross, The Leader, and maybe, just maybe, we could finally see Rick Jones in the MCU!
I think the Hulk would make a fantastic Netflix Original Series and with Disney now behind Marvel, it's not like they can't afford it...
3. Nightwing
Here's a character that I think everyone can agree would make a good live-action TV series, whether on Netflix or not: Nightwing! Dick Grayson is an extremely important character in the DC Universe. He's been leader of the Teen Titans, Titans, and the Justice League of America, he was the first Robin and the second (official) Batman. Though Dick has always felt most comfortable with being Nightwing.
A Nightwing series would work for numerous reasons. First off, it doesn't have to take place in Gotham, in fact it's almost better if it doesn't! It could take place in Bludhaven, Chicago, or even New York City as Nightwing has been based in all of those places. You wouldn't have to have a huge cast either, mainly just Nightwing and you could give him a friend or two. I would also throw Barbara Gordon in there either as a retired Batgirl or as Oracle (I'd choose Oracle) so that he has someone on his team to help him out. Obviously, you wouldn't include Batman all to much as this series could easily take place after all fall-out between both heroes and when he does appear it would only be in a cameo fashion.
This series could also take place in the DCCU as it may explain the time between when Dick left Bruce years before Batman vs. Superman. If that's the case, you could easily get people to watch this show, if not for just Nightwing alone!
2. Snake Eyes
Now, technically this character wasn't originally a comic book hero, but he certainly has enough of them to let that slide, Snake Eyes is my 2nd pick for a Netflix Original Series!
The beauty of making a Snake Eyes series is that you could easily structure it like Arrow in the sense that you would have the classic Snake Eyes that we all know and love fighting Cobra and other ninjas on foreign soil while also having flashbacks to Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow being trained by Hard Master in the past and the aftermath of that leading up to the moment where Storm Shadow betrays his father for Cobra Commander. It would be a great way to structure this series.
I would love to see more of live-action Snake Eyes. He was the best part of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and was definitely my favorite part of the infinitely better sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation! Would it be hard having a main character who does not speak? Yes, it definitely would, but that's why you could add characters like Jinx or Scarlett and make sure that he has enough supporting character that can help explain situations as well as one's who will add to his mission (like Diggle and Felicity on Arrow) as opposed to being a hindrance (like Skye on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
Ultimately, a Snake Eyes series on Netflix would be amazing and it's extremely hard for me not to place this character at Number 1 because I can see the series in my head as I type this, and it seems amazing.
1. The Question
Didn't see that one coming did ya? The Question, Vic Sage, is my Number 1 pick in terms of who I would love to see as a Netflix Original Series! From his amazing run on Justice League Unlimited to the fact that he was what inspired fan-favorite Watchmen character Rorschach, The Question is definitely a character that I would love to see in live-action.
We'd obviously be going the Post-Crisis route, no "Trinity of Sin" stuff, just pure Vic Sage. He would be a lot like Fox Mulder from The X-Files, a man who witnessed something terrible once and then decided to search for the truth. However, in order to expose these government conspiracies, he needs help inside of local law-enforcement. Meet Renee Montoya! We could of course have Helena Bertinelli, a woman on the inside of political corruption who wants to also bring it down, aka the Huntress be a supporting character as well. I would say that we could make Lex Luthor the main villain, but since that would never work, I'd go with none-other than the character that actually inspired the Question himself, Mr. A. Mr. A was always more of an anti-hero character, but seeing as how he doesn't have as big a fan/cult-following as the Question, I could easily see him working as a villain for our hero.
Ultimately, the Question would be a very interesting series for Netflix to do, but I think it would get people interested in more obscure and deeper comics than just Batman, Superman, X-Men, and Spider-Man. Not that there's anything wrong with those characters at all, there most certainly is not, but it would be nice to give lesser-known heroes (much like Arrow is doing) the spotlight for a change.
Runner's Up
All-New/Original X-Men - Who wouldn't want to see Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Beast, and Iceman in live-action on Netflix? I mean really? Again, would NEVER happen, but it'd still be cool!
Cyborg - Why not? They use him for everything now, and at least this could be interesting...
Elongated Man - Just read Identity Crisis... Sounds stupid, but I think it would be awesome...
Aquaman - He's been on TV before, I'd love to see him in live-action again!
