Andrew Garfield On THE SINISTER SIX: "I Know More Than I'm Allowed To Say."

In April this year, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swung into theatres and grossed over $700 million worldwide. While becoming the lowest grossing film in the franchise, the film still managed to make over $500 million overseas, making it the second highest grossing Spider-Man film overseas, just behind Spider-Man 3. Following Sony's "disappointment" in the sequel's performance, it was revealed that Drew Goddard's Sinister Six film had been moved up to November 2016, seemingly replacing The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

The Toronto Sun were lucky enough to check out Spider-Man star, Andrew Garfield's latest film 99 Homes in which he stars as a man who is evicted from his home by a greedy real estate agent. Garfield spilled some small details regarding 2016's Sinister Six revealing that, like many of us, he is "Really excited about Drew Goddard... And whether I'm apart of that or not is immaterial." If that cock-tease wasn't enough, Garfield went on to say "I don't know if I should say anything right now, but [Drew] Goddard is really exciting."

Before concluding the interview, Andrew revealed a little something to get the fans even more excited for the villain team-up. Saying, "I know more than I'm allowed to say right now." Garfield also promised the film would be filled with "twists" much like Goddard's debut feature, Cabin In The Woods. Andrew concluded the interview by touching on the twist section, saying "Hence, me not telling you s--t about that."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is out now on Blu-Ray and DVD combo pack!

    Review: THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 (IMAX 3D)

“What makes life so precious is that it comes to an end.” Marc Webb returns to the directing chair in this sequel to 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man. Starring Andrew Garfield as the spandex wearing Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn and Jamie Foxx as the sparkling Electro. Now I am a fan of The Amazing Spider-Man, I thought the film was good, not great, but it had a lot of potential with the sequel. Today, I am very pleased to say that director Marc Webb has returned to fantastic form with this second instalment returning to his glory days of (500) Days Of Summer. This review may contain spoilers, but I will write a complete paragraph at the bottom of the page, discussing spoilers so I will give warning on when the paragraph starts.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is simply dazzling. The 2-hour and 25 minute runtime is simply forgotten as you sit and watch this remarkable film. This is mostly because of the amazing performances throughout the entire film. Garfield returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and gives a really fantastic performance. Garfield is given a script that may not be the best, but he does a really good job at making some of the average scenes truly great. Stone also returns as Gwen Stacy. Gwen has a much bugger role in this film, and she does an amazing job. Stacy’s graduation speech was one of the best parts of the film. Oscar winner Jamie Foxx features in the film as Max Dillon/Electro. While his character arc is definitely the weakest part of the film, the comparisons to Batman Foreveris definitely not deserved. Like Garfield, Foxx does a great job at making average scenes/lines of dialogue great. One poor line that Foxx manages to make great is “I’m gonna destroy the light, so you can live in the darkness.” Dane DeHaan. Wow. Just let me begin by saying, throughout the entire film I was swinging on Harry Osborn’s side. DeHaan was simply fantastic, not only did he manage to completely knock James Franco’s Harry Osborn out of memory, but he also manages to become the best Green Goblin to ever appear on the big screen. To simply put it, the performances in this film make it a must watch alone.

The story for this film is what you expect from the trailers: Max Dillon is a loser, he becomes Electro, he hates Spider-Man, and he teams with Goblin to fight Spider-Man. But that’s not all. In this film we finally get the big mystery surrounding Peter’s parents from the first Amazing film. One of the major complaints that people had surrounding the ending to the previous film was that Peter ended up with Gwen despite promising her father he wouldn’t. However, within the opening 25 minutes director Marc Webb delivers a very (500) Days Of Summer type scene in which Gwen breaks up with Peter after saying she “Can’t do this forever.” I have heard complaints saying Peter Parker is immature in this film, but I simply cannot agree with this statement. I would say Peter is very conflicted, which is the exact same as the comic books. Peter is a kid. He does stupid things, but that’s where Spider-Man comes into the picture. The difference between Peter and Spider-Man is that Peter is conflicted and can’t make responsible or right decisions, while Spider-Man always makes the right decisions.

As I saw the film in IMAX 3D, I guess I should comment on the film’s 3D. To simply put it, it was breathtaking. The whole film looked like a comic book thrown onto the big screen. The bright colours, loud noises, I loved it all. One sequence that makes the film a must see in IMAX 3D is the first confrontation between Electro and Spider-Man in Times Square. Spider-Man’s swinging was also fantastic to watch. All and all, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a fantastic film. If you know the Spider-Man character, then you’ll have a soft spot for this film. Even if you ‘hate it’ there’ll always be a small part of you that really does love this film. From the performances to the stunning visual effects, Marc Webb delivers a film that will go down as one of the best superhero movies ever made.

    ***Spoilers Below***

Now for the spoilers, I’m giving you one more chance to turn back, Americans, you have one more chance, that’s all I’m giving you. I’ll do it, I’ll post the end all in caps, I’m gonna do it. I’m giving you just one more chance. Okay, I’m assuming you’re all gone. Good. Marc Webb does a terrific job at using foreshadowing to allude to the ending of the film. For instance, the opening shot of the film are the gears inside Richard Parker’s watch, while the location of Gwen’s death is at a clock tower, which, ironically, also has gears. On the topic of Gwen’s death, I thought it was done really well. That shot of her motionless body as it hit the ground sent a shiver down my spine and watching Peter’s reaction was truly tear jerking. I also loved the way the film explained how Spider-Man had been gone for 5 months following Gwen’s death, bringing a sense of realism to the Spider-Man character.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Star Andrew Garfield Set To Host SNL On May 3rd!

Finally. Earlier today, word hit Twitter that Never Let Me Go and The Social Network star Andrew Garfield will in fact host NBC's Saturday Night Live on May 3rd. This marks Andrew's second time on the show, but his first time hosting. Back in 2011, Emma Stone hosted the show and Andrew made a surprise appearance (video below). Garfield will be joined by musical guests, Coldplay, who interestingly enough were the same musical guests when Emma Stone hosted the show 3 years ago. You can check out SNL's tweet as well as Garfield's appearance on the show below. Music Video For Tonight Alive's 'The Edge' Featured In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Released [HD]

In just over two weeks we will be seeing the world's favourite wall-crawler back on the big screen in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. As with most (if not all) blockbusters, the film's directors and producers set out to find a great song that perfectly describes their story. Marc Webb and soundtrack producers Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer have decided to Aussie band Tonight Alive perfectly fill that void. Featured on the soundtrack and in the film, Tonight Alive's newest song, titled 'The Edge' is told from "Gwen Stacy's point of view," says lead singer, Jenna McDougall. The song is now available on iTunes, you can check out the music video featuring footage from the film, down below!

"Hey, I'm walking here." Earlier today, Sony Pictures released a 6-minute behind the scenes video showcasing the creation of this summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The b-roll footage showcases some scenes with Jamie Foxx's Electro, Chris Cooper's Norman Osborn, Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn, Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker and of course, Emma Stone's stunning, Gwen Stacy. The b-roll footage may be considered spoilerish, but it really doesn't reveal anything that we didn't know. You can check out the video below, or if that doesn't work, you can find it at this link.

[VIDEO] The Stalking Continues In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

While promoting The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise Of Electro in my homeland of Australia, stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone got to discuss teenage romance and the idea of stalking. Evident in the first film, Garfield's Peter Parker really loves Gwen Stacy, while his love for her may be deemed a little creepy (having her on his Sony desktop computer really doesn't help) it is evident that he really does love the girl. In the days of social networking and such, it is fairly common to be going on a 'Facebook stalk' and so I'm going to let this stalking thing slide, considering Spider-Man himself did in fact create Facebook with Lex Luthor.

Talking to Alison Stephenson of News.com.au, Garfield and Stone discussed the film in a rather light way, shining lights on the more intimate moments of the film. When asked how Andrew made Peter's stalking of Gwen seem so "charming," Garfield had to say, "I don't know if I did succeed - I think it may just be you that feels that way." When Garfield's real life girlfriend was asked the same question, Miss Stone replied with, "I don't think I should be validating stalkers, but I don't think he actually is stalking her, I think he's just trying to protect her."

Garfield was soon asked how he feels Peter views Gwen in this film, following their relationship in the first film. Garfield said, "Everything in his [Peter's] head is saying, 'you can't, you can't, you can't' but everything in your heart and body is going 'I know, I have no choice' but it is, it just has to be."

The Green Goblin Or David Bowie? New THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Image Released!

Today, Sony released a 'final' trailer for next month's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. But that final trailer has not stopped the marketing at all for this film. Revealed via YouTube's SevenWebHeads, a new photo of Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn/The Green Goblin has been released. Showing off the incomplete (?) costume and revealing a very devious smile. Now I have to say, am I the only one who thinks this Goblin has a striking resemblance to David Bowie? Come on, it's uncanny! Oh yeah, you know he looks like Bowie, even Marc Webb knows that, Dane DeHaan needs to play David Bowie. Get on it Hollywood.

The latest film in the Spider-Man saga stars: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Jamie Foxx, Sally Field, Paul Giamatti and Colm Feore. The film is set for a April 17th release in Australia and New Zealand, while American's must wait until May 2nd.

SPOILERS! Take A Guess What Is In One Of The Chambers In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

    HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD!
Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has become one of everyone's most anticipated films for 2014. Earlier today, a rumour was flying around surrounding the seven chambers found in the trailer for TASM 2. Thanks to YouTube user, SevenWebHeads, we have another character to perhaps include in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, anyone wanna take a guess on who that is? Well, according to him, one of the seven chambers found at Oscorp will in fact include, The Symbiote. Although this may have been pretty obvious, considering Sony have announced a Venom spin-off movie, and Alex Kurtzman (director of Venom) has revealed that the symbiote will indeed originate from Oscorp, much like The Ultimate comics. In the Ultimate Comics, The Symbiote was developed by Richard Parker and Edward Brock Snr as a cure for diseases like Cancer. Although Eddie Brock has not been confirmed to appear in TASM 2, you have to remember that Sony met with a ton of young upcoming actors for unspecified roles, some of these include Alden Ehrenreich and Douglas Booth.

Marc Webb Will NOT Direct THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 4

In only a four weeks, countries around the world will see Spider-Man back on the big screen in this year's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Earlier this year, Sony Pictures revealed that they will indeed continue the Spider-Man franchise after the sequel this year, announcing dates for a third and fourth film. Last week Marc Webb confirmed that he will return to the director's chair for 2016's The Amazing Spider-Man 3 but today, in an interview with The Daily Beast, the director confirms that TASM 3 will indeed be his last. Marc touched on the topic of TASM 4 by saying,"I’d like to be involved as a consultant, and I’ve already talked to these guys about it, but in terms of directing it, that will close out my tenure. I’ve had so much fun doing it, but after the third movie, it’ll be the time to find something else."

However, I would take these comments with a grain of salt, do you guys and gals remember when Michael Bay discussed directing Transformers: Age Of Extinction? Marc Webb also confirmed that we would be seeing a certain someone become a major villain in this film, spoilers ahead. Webb revealed that Harry Osborn will indeed become The Green Goblin in this film, despite what many assumed to be a prototype. Webb said "Yeah. There will be some "creature of the night" popping up." The question still remains, what will Norman's Goblin look like, if this is indeed The Green Goblin? Ultimate Goblin anyone?

As well as discussing Harry Osborn and the fourth film, The Daily Beast also got Webb to touch on the ever present 'Shailene Factor'. This problem came up back in August of last year when it was revealed that Shailene Woodley's role as Mary-Jane Watson was completely cut form the film. When trailers hit for the film, many fans (myself included) spotted a shot of Shailene, however the director does again confirm that she is not in the film. Webb said, "It was just Peter seeing Mary Jane once or twice next door. Shai was only there for a couple of days and it was a very minor part. But I love Shai. She was fantastic in "The Spectacular Now" which was a script I was attached to direct for a long to. She was really cool about it and understood it, and actually suggested it in some ways.

You can check out the full interview in the link above, Marc also discusses the usual comparison between Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 and his The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Plus Webb gives some advise to any young, aspiring directors.

According To Sony Pictures There Has Been “No Screenings” Of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Earlier today, according to a forum user, (I'm not going to say his name for privacy reasons, as I do believe people deserve some privacy) there was to be a special screening of Sony's latest film, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Now for weeks, people (including myself) believed that there was to be a legitimate early screening of Marc Webb's highly anticipated sequel. Now thanks to YouTube user, and Spider-Man fanatic, SevenWebHeads, we have information that the user of the forums was in fact lying. Earlier today Seven posted a video on his YouTube channel, in which he contacted the head of editorials for Sony Pictures, and asked if there was in fact an early screening of the film in Ireland. The head of editorials replied to Seven and said "I have been told this information is false - there have been no screenings in Ireland to date." This is pretty funny, now if you're a Spider-Man fan, it is pretty hilarious that someone had to lie and say how great the film was, instead of, like you and I, waiting for the film to be released? You can check out Seven's video below, he's a great guy and he knows his stuff. So in order to recap: 1) there was no early screening and 2) do not listen to everything you hear on the internet, because most of the time, it's people talking out of their asses.

Sony Pictures have revealed a brand new featurette for this summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The new featurette, clocking in at 2 minutes, features a ton of new footage focussing on Peter and Gwen's relationship. Revealing that Gwen has some secrets of her own, this new video may spoil very small things about the new film, but as a whole, I would say it doesn't spoil anything that we did not already know. *Peter Parker is Spider-Man* Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theatres April 17th

    Story:
We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Following the seven new images released by Total Film, Sony Pictures Australia have revealed two brand new character posters from The Amazing Spider-Man 2/Rise Of Electro. Showcasing Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man and Jamie Foxx's Electro, the two posters feature the tagline "His Greatest Battle Begins." For Spidey And "Enemies Will Unite." For Electro. While the Spider-Man poster is not so interesting, the tagline for Electro's poster is obviously teasing the eventual formation of The Sinister Six.
