Last year we had heard whispers that FOX was considering bringing the X-Men brand to television just like Marvel and DC. Now today The Hollywood Reporter announced that 24 producers Evan Katz & Manny Coto will join Patrick McKay and JD Payne as showrunners of the show. The site does go onto reveal a deal with Marvel must be made because they have the television rights to the X-Men brand, while FOX has the film rights. They also go onto say that FOX isn't making this project a priority so we may not see anything about the show until 2017 if Marvel signs off on it. Back last year when the rumor first arouse it was also mentioned that FOX may use X-Factor (Obviously will need to change the name) as the team for this X-Men TV Series.

It has been a long road finding young versions of Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey. Originally played by Famke Janseen, James Marsden and Halle Berry in the original trilogy. Now director Bryan Singer took to twitter to officially announce that Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, Mud star Tye Sheridan and Aaliyah: Princess of R&B star Alexandria Shipp has joined the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse. They join the likes of Hugh Jackman as well as the "First Class" cast of James McAvoy, Micheal Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. According to rumors Channing Tatum might appear as Gambit and Oscar Issac has been cast as the title villain Apocalypse.

While promoting his newest film Kingman: The Secret Service up and coming actor Taron Egerton reveals to MTV UK that the rumors of him up for Scott Summers in X-Men: Apocalypse is completely untrue."I can say I'm not doing X-Men. "I love the X-Men films and I love that franchise. I love the people who make them on and off screen, so yeah I'd love to one day sometime, but in this instance that rumor is unfounded." He does however go onto reveal he would love to play Spider-Man even though Andrew Garfield has done an amazing job. "If I could play any superhero... my favorite superhero is Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield is wonderful at doing it to the point that I don't think I should play it." Even though the actor has taken himself out of the running many other names were on the shortlist for Scott Summers, Jean Grey and Storm. 

It seems X-Men: days of Future Past will be the last time we watch Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen grace the screen as the friendly foes Professor Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr While speaking with Larry King the actor revealed that the next film X-Men: Apocalypse will be done without them and once again be on the shoulders of James McAvoy and Micheal Fassbender:

Last year we heard a list of young actors and actresses who were up for the role for young Jean Grey and Scott Summers in Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. They included Kick-Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz who had even met with director Bryan Singer. Well now Latino-Review has nabbed a scoop adding even more names to the original list for both Scott and Jean along with some names for a young Storm. Apparently Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner (Who has been many fans favorite) is being looked at for Jean Grey as well as The Host star Saoirse Ronan. As for her long time crush Scott Summers FOX is eying young up and coming actor Taron Edgerton who will star in next months Kingsman: The Secret Service. Others being looked at include Jamie Backley and Tye Sheridan. Jeff Snider of The Wrap goes onto confirm this scoop stating that Tye Sheridan is the frontrunner for Scott Summers and that Chloe Mortez has since passed on Jean Grey.


Lastly, the report goes onto add two names who are up for the role of a young Storm in the X-Men feature. They include Alexandria Shipp who starred in Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B and Zendaya Coleman from K.C Undercover. 

Yes, you maybe asking yourself what does the Sony Hack have to do with FOX's mega franchises -Men and the rebooted Fantastic Four and I'll tell you why. The Daily Beast has learned that Columbia Pictures (subsidiary of Sony Pictures) Co-President Michael De Luca revealed to Sony head Amy Pascal in an email that she should consider doing an "Avengers-style" team up movie down the line with all the Spider-Man characters at their disposable. The reason being because Marvel actually have The Avengers and apparently writer and producer of the X-Men films Simon Kinberg revealed to the co-president that he is hard at work developing the long rumored Fantastic Four/X-Men team-up movie for FOX:

"[Simon] Kinberg told me fox is steering Xmen and Fantastic Four into an eventual team up film,"

It's unfortunate that this hack even occurred but now it seems to be effecting other company's after the revelation that The Russo Brothers will be directing Avengers: Infinity War and not Joss Whedon for Marvel. Now we learn on the other side of the Marvel universe Simon Kinberg will indeed be having his X-Men team-up or verse the rebooted Fantastic Four.

FOX currently The Fantastic Four coming out next year, X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016 and an untitled FOX event on July 13th, 2018. Could this be the Fantastic Four/X-Men team-up movie?!

Several day's ago a fan asked actor Daniel Cudmore if he would be returning to X-Men: Apocalypse as Colossus. And for you Colossus fans the answer is unfortunate:

Now this shouldn't come as to much of a surpise given that Colossus is still a teenager in X2 and may not have even been born by the time of Apocalypse on the 1980's even with the timeline reset from Days of Future Past.

 It should be noted that Colossus actually plays a pretty large role in Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick's original Deadpool screenplay starring Ryan Reynolds. If the character is still in the newer drafts its entirely possible they may bring Cudmore back for that X-Men spin-off! We actually spoke with Cudmore back in 2013 his reaction to the Deadpool screenplay.

Today Variety announced that Inside Llewyn Davis and Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Oscar Isaac has joined Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse as the title villain. This comes after rumors that Tom Hardy and Idris Elba were being eyed for the title role. He will join the cast of the First Class films as well as some younger actors who will play young Jean Grey, Scott Summers and Storm.

Last week it was revealed that Luthur and Thor star Idris Elba has since parted way's on Guy Richies Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur as the "Merlin" of the film. Then several days ago Jeff Snieder of The Wrap called into Meet the Movie Press and dropped a hint that Idris Elba's name has been thrown around to possible play the title villain in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse! Many also know Elba as being the military commander at the end of Pacific Rim who gave the speech "We are canceling the Apocalypse!" well I guess that wasn't completely true...

Jeff lastly adds Elba is just one of three actors who have been rumored for the title role..

Other names that have floated around for the role of Apocalypse included Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) but Jeff says that is no longer happening. Which makes sense since Hardy maybe singing onto DC Comics Suicide Squad.

Several months ago it was revealed that in X-Men: Apocalypse we would finally see the true "First Class" in younger versions of Jean Grey, Scott Summers and Storm set within the 80s. Now thanks to The Wrap a shortlist of upcoming actors & actresses are being sought after for these mega mutant roles. They include Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz, Maleficent star Elle Fanning and Academy-Award nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld. As for Scott Summers the actors being looked at include Ben Hardy (Eastenders), Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society) and Timothee Chalamet (Homeland).


The site goes onto reveal that Chloe Moretz has indeed met with director Bryan Singer for the role as well as Elle Fanning. But note Fanning may not be keen on signing onto such a massive project. It should be noted that Chloe Moretz already played a damaged telepath in 2013's Carrie.

Tom Hardy has become synonyms with comic book movie castings. After appearing in The Dark Knight Rises the star has since been linked to Marvel's Doctor Strange and most recently DC's Suicide Squad. Well now The Wrap is reporting that the actor has been approached by FOX to star has the title villain in X-Men: Apocalypse! Now while now deal is in place they go onto say that the actor is shying away from Doctor Strange and is looking at either Suicide Squad or X-Men: Apocalypse. It's unfortunate that he is being type-cast as a comic book villain on all of these movies expect Doctor Strange but either way it's good for us!

Earlier this year X-Men: Dayf of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg spoke with Collider who mentioned that FOX was considering doing some X-Men spin-off TV series in the future to expand their cinematic universe. Not much came from this off handed comment but just yesterday Bleeding Cool got the word that FOX is indeed considering an X-Men series in the not to distant future.

Then later on Shawn Maden of EatGeek Play went onto say that FOX is considering bringing the mutant team of X-Factor to the small screen.

Several weeks ago fans finally rejoiced to learn that Deadpool would be making his way onto the big screen. This comes off being in development hell since 2009's initial announcement. But many have wondered if this Deadpool would be connected in anyway to the other X-Men films given the leaked 2010 script doesn't even mention any of the other X-Men beside Colossus who plays a pretty large part in the original script. Well, while speaking with Comicbook.com the writer for both Days of Future Past and the upcoming Apocalypse confirms that this upcoming Deadpool reboot is indeed set within the X-Men Cinematic Universe:

“There’s definitely a sort of overall plan that we’ve all been talking about for the X-Men universe now and Deadpool obviously fits into that. So yeah, I guess I would say it's part of certainly an overall timeline and thought process that goes into these films, some of which is inspired by the comics and some which is inspired by seeing what Marvel’s done with telling a larger tapestry and linking all those movies together, even as they stand independently as well. The same kind of thought is going to go into these X-Men movies at Fox.”

Now if that is the case many will wonder what about Barak-pool seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Well, thanks to the timeline change in X-Men: Days of Future Past the events of Origins has all been "deleted" from the timeline thus a new Deadpool can emerge.

Another question is if Colossus is still in the newly rewritten script will Daniel Cudmore play the character like he had in all of the other X-Men films? Well back in July 2013 Cudmore did reveal to Superhero Movie News that he loved the script and will love to return to the franchise.

We all know that in the latest X-Men film Days of Future Past Wolverine successfully rewrote the timeline and avoided the bleak future he came from. In the rewritten timeline Jean Grey & Scott Summers are once again alive after being killed off in X-Men: The Last Stand. Well, here are some HD stills showcasing the future timeline and cameo's made including the return of Kelsey Grammer as future Hank McCoy/Beast. As well as Rogue & Iceman together again. With Kitty Pryde actually falling in love with Colossus like their comic book counterparts.

The other day it was announced (via Deadline) that longtime X-Men director and director of the recent Days of Future Past film Bryan Singer will indeed return for the sequel X-Men: Apocalypse. This comes off recent allegations that the director had misconduct with a young male actor back in the 90's but the allegations have since been dropped. It was always assumed that the director would return for this epic sequel but now he has officially signed the dotted lines. The first plot details have also been announced which confirms that young "First Class" cast will indeed meet up with the original x-men younger self in the 1980's which include Scott Summers, Jean Grey and Storm

Apocalypse takes place a decade after Days of Future Past and is a seamless next step in the story. The altering of time has unleashed a new and uniquely powerful enemy. Charles (James McAvoy), Erik/Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Hank/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) are joined by young Cyclops, Storm, Jean and others as the X-Men must fight their most formidable foe yet: an ancient unrelenting force determined to cause an apocalypse unlike any in human history.

Even it isn't announced in this plot synopsis it has also been confirmed that Evan Peters will indeed return as Quicksilver. It has also been rumored that Channing Tatum will assume the role of Gambit in this film before spinning off into his own solo film. Other mutants who have been rumored are Nightcrawler.


In other news. Writer and Producer of X-Men: Apocalypse Simon Kinberg sat down with Yahoo! Movies to answer fan questions about the film as well as Days of Future Past. He teases that young Scott, Jean and Storm may need to be recast as well as the chronological order of the X-Men films:

It has been two films in the First Class timeline for young Charles Xavier and actor James McAvoy seems to have grown hair in the most recent film Days of Future Past instead of losing it. Of course there was that off-handed joke in X-Men: First Class where Hank McCoy says to Charles that Cerebro would work better if he shaved Charles head.  But beyond that we have yet to see James McAvoy go bald leading him from simple telepath Charles Xavier to Professor X (Played by Patrick Stewart)

Well, while speaking with The Huffington Post the actor reveals that he doesn't have any specifics on the next X-film Apoclaypse but does reveal he will finally go bald:

"I'll be older for this one.[And] I think I'm losing my hair finally. And, yeah, that's kind of all I know." He continued, "I got an email from the [producer/writer Simon Kinberg] who informed me he was getting dead excited about stuff, but he didn't want to divulge anything for a couple of weeks, so I really don't know. It does seem fairly global, if we're talking apocalypse. Maybe it's just the character's name, but I think the nature of the film is going to be fairly apocalyptic."

Today Journal de Montreal revealed that Bryan Singer's next X-Men flick Apocalypse will begin shooting in Montreal April 2015. This comes off his most successful and critically acclaimed X-Men film Days of Future Past this past May. He will once again utilized the massive 27-arce studio for his next film. While the first trilogy was filmed  in Ontario and British Columbia. And X-Men Origins as well as The Wolverine were shot in Australia.

Back in the 90's no one would have guessed an X-Men live action movie would ever exist. Then along came Bryan Singer and his X-Men starring unknown actor Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and his unlikely encounter and relationship with Rogue played by Anna Paquin. Well apparently she was not the original actress looked at for the role. Actress Rachael Leigh Cook explains why she turned down the role back in the day on The Movie Crypt podcast. She first talks about turning down the role  

“That was incredibly stupid. They wanted a six month commitment, at least just in terms of availability and shooting. I was up to my neck in the indie world banging out four movies a year at that point.”

 She then goes onto reveal how she thought the movie was going to be a disaster because a superhero movie this epic was never yet seen on screen:

“They were saying ‘we don’t have a lot of money to make this’ and as I was reading the script it was like the most epic superhero everything. I tried to picture that getting made for not a lot of money and thought this was a disaster.” 

 Of course the role eventually went to Anna Paquin and the rest is history. Fans of the character of course never really liked the Rogue that was portrayed on screen compared to the cartoon or comics but it's the one we got 14 years ago.

Now while many have you saw Blink die twice in X-Men: Days of Future Past you can expect her to return! She undoubtedly had some of the coolest action sequences in the entire storyline thanks to her mutant ability of teleportation through shards. Well, while the actress Fan BingBing spoke with The Star she reveals that she will return for the next film and maybe even up to 3 others:

We got a glimpse of the titular villain in the post credits stinger in this year's X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Kinberg was asked if  Archangel will appear as one of Apocalypse's horsemen.
