Today, the guys over at ComicBook.com got a scoop on the secret role that The Wolverine actress Tao Okamoto will be playing  in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The report is stating that Tao Okamoto will be playing a LexCorp employee named Mercy. As many know from Superman: The Animated Series then eventually appearing in the comics that Lex Luthor had a bad-ass martial arts fighter named Mercy Graves. When she crossed over to comics she was revealed to be part Amazon like Wonder Woman. Also, in the Young Justice TV Series she was seen as a silent cyborg with arm cannons. But it's unknown if either one of these origins will be used in the movie.

This comes off reports that Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) will definitely be playing up the evil Mark Zuckerberg angle that many feared he would. A young weaselly type billionaire who knows he has more power than a Senator or Governor. Also have been reports that he will have blonde "surfer" hair. But this report has yet to be confirmed....

A good character arc for Lex Luthor would be Luthor at some point experimenting on himself through some type of radiation to become as powerful as Superman. But the experiment makes him go slightly crazy but it only shows when he is alone. As well as losing his hair due to the radiation. The very last scene of the movie would be Lex losing his hair due to the experiments. But this is all pure fan speculation...

Today, an awesome fan snapped some shots of a building in Pontiac, MI that will be used as the offices for LexCorp. This technically isn't our first look at LexCorp given several obvious easter eggs where in Man of Steel but this is a new design then the ones we saw before! In case you didn't know Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) has been cast to play the villainous Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman v Superman.

Recently, Total Film sat down with Rio 2 star Anne Hathaway (Who co-stars with Jesse Eisenberg) and talked about his role as the brand new Lex Luthor. Many fans were extremely upset when Zack Snyder announced that the new Lex Luthor who is usually depicted as a macho businessman was cast to Jesse Eisenberg. Since the announcement some not all fans have warmed up to the idea thinking that this Lex Luthor will be a much more dark version of The Social Network character Mark Zuckaberg. Now Hathaway has come out to give some pointers to the young movie star given she had some major backlash being cast as Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises....which she turned out to be the best part if the entire movie:

“I wish I could say something, but it’s going to be his experience. Keep a journal, which I’m sure he does some version of that already, just to remember it. Don’t be afraid to make it your own. In my case, people criticized, criticized, criticized until they saw it, and then a lot of people liked what I did. Don’t listen to anyone, do your thing. They cast you for a reason. I think he’ll be remarkable, I’m excited to see it.”

Last week news broke that Oscar-nominated actor Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Lex Luthor. This made the world freak out given Lex Luthor has been typically depicted as a buff billionaire of sorts not the physic that Mr. Eisenberg currently has.

Well a small bit of news broke this morning that Lex Luthor will have a "Smallville-esqe" past in his back story. Well @elmayimbe of Latino-Review has dropped some pretty extensive spoilers on Lex Luthors backstory!

We start off that Alexander "Lex" Luthor won't inherit LexCorp from his father (In Smallville Linoel Luthor). They are reinventing his entire back story. Lex will be a kid raised on the streets. He joins a gang to survive at 14 and runs the gang by 15. He will have a sleeve tattoo of the Metropolis skyline to show his dedication to the city. He isn't your typical goon though but a genious in innovation and the will to survive.He then becomes a self made billionaire by 18.

And yes he will shave his head!

What is his connection to Bruce Wayne? Bruce Wayne (Played by Ben Affleck) and Lex Luthor hate each other. Bruce sees Lex as a amoral, arrogant brat. Lex sees Bruce as a accident who fell into his money while Lex himself made his fortune.

Where does our Man of Steel (Played by Henry Cavill) play into this? Lex Luthor sees Superman (While viewing the destruction of Metropolis on his screens) as nothing more then an alien trespassing on American soil. While Bruce sees Superman as a exquisite specimen and is just curious of Superman. 

Now even though Bruce and Lex hate each other has individuals Bruce feels that they can put aside their differences to rebuild Metropolis together. Let bygones be bygones for the greater good.

Lastly, Lex Luthor feels that Superman can die...he is not immortal....not a god. While Bruce feels that there is a more civilized and peaceful way to handle this alien.....this god.... 

While promoting his most recent film Back In The Day actor Michael Rosenbaum was asked by Media Mikes once again if asked would he return for Batman vs Superman...and he would!

“The fans have been unbelievable. They’ve tweeted me, I’ve tweeted back…I’ve been to conventions and they always ask me, ‘Would you do it?’ And I’m not an idiot, of course I’d do it. I’d love to do it. But I think Joaquin Phoenix is probably gonna do it or somebody,”

He adds about that its not is decision:

“But I don’t hold my breath because I know there’s the stigma, ‘He was the TV Smallville Lex Luthor.’ I say that sarcastically, but I think it’s a shame. If people like the role and what I did with it, then they should consider it. But I’m not the director. I’m not the producer. Long story short, I’d do it in a fucking heartbeat.”

Let me start off by stating that these rumors are so far out there thats why I put them together. It seems WB may be planting fake rumors to generate buzz on their upcoming epic Batman vs Superman. Never-the-less here at the two most recent rumors.

According to John Campea of AMC Movie Talk 2 UNTESTED sources it seems Joaquin Phoenix is out for the role of Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman. It seems at least according to these sources Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) is once again the front runner:

Now for the second wacky rumor. According to Nuke the Fridge sources Oscar winning actor Denzel Washington isn't up for Lex Luthor as previously reported by Think McFly Think but actually up for Green Lantern!

According to our source, the “Training Day” actor is being considered for the role of Green Lantern John Stewart instead. If this proves to be true, Green Lantern will join an ever growing list of members from DC’s Justice League of America that also include Superman, Batman and Wonder Women.

 Again with all these rumors its starting to feel that they all are fake. Some sites say Washington is Lex Luthor while others say he is John Stewart. Bryan Cranston's name is one again in there for Lex Luthor. Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense at all. Never-the-less here are the current rumors circulating the inter-webs.

More solid news should come in the new year with filming beginning this spring! 

Today Variety broke the news that Warner Bros wants Her star Joaquin Phoenix for he main baddie Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman! They go onto say its very early talks and no offer has been made. They also add that Phoenix has never had a desire to be in a big blockbuster so he will most likely decline the offer.

On the off chance he accepts could you get behind Phoenix as Luthor?!

Today news broke from Deadline that Gal Gadot has indeed been cast as Wonder Woman in Batman vs Superman. Now over at Variety's article they also mention that 300 & Zero Dark Thirty star Callan Mulvey is being eyed as the lead villain in Batman vs Superman:

Warners will also look to now cast the villain with “Zero Dark Thirty” and “300: Rise of the Empire” star Callan Mulvey someone Warner Bros. is eyeing to play the role.

According to Think Mcfly Think Mulvey was at one point considered for Lex Luthor but is now being looked at for none other then Metallo! So yes it seems we are getting both Metallo and Ultron within 3 months of each other....

With Man of Steel recently being released on Blu-Ray/DVD and the Smallville Season 11 comic book series coming to an evolution, what better time for me to write this article?

For those who don't know, I am a huge Smallville fan! Smallville was my "gateway" show so-to-speak that not only really boosted my interest in Superman (before then all I had were a few Superman comics, Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, and the Christopher Reeve films), but also in television dramas such as Supernatural, Chuck, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Heroes, and much more. Smallville still holds as my favorite TV series (actually tying itself with Supernatural and Chuck if we're going to be honest) and still remains relevant in the wake of Man of Steel.

There are a lot of comic book, superhero, and Superman fans out there that despise Smallville for various reasons. Either the show doesn't stick right with the DC Universe & Superman mythos or the characters suck or this or that. The problem with anything is that you'll never please everyone. There will be people who read this who loved Smallville, there will be people that read this that hate the show. There will also be those who only see the headline and comment on it anyway! Smallville really tends to strike a nerve for some people.

I on the other hand love it, as I explained above, and actually believe that the show is a great addition to the over-all DC Universe, much like many say Arrow is now (of which I also agree). Here's why...


1. The Mythology/Story - The mythos behind Smallville have always been pretty extensive. Outside of Clark's backstory on Krypton and his biological parents lives there, other characters have been seen to have connections to his life without even his knowledge, which ties the universe together. Oliver Queen, for example, went to the same boarding school as Lex Luthor and later in life, Lionel Luthor had Oliver's parents killed. While Oliver was marooned on an island for 5 years, near the end of that journey, he met Tess Mercer, who is actually a Luthor herself (by birth).
