That's right folks! Magic Mike and 22 Jump Street star Channing Tatum has been confirmed by Lauren Shuler Donner at the UK premiere of X-MEN: Days of Future Past.
"It is Channing," she said after expressing her desire to also bring Deadpool and X-Force to the big screen. He's a rogue, Channing, he's a rascal," explained Donner, "just like Remy Lebeau [Gambit's real name] and he can handle the action, we all know that."She goes on to say how Tatum "has a good heart". "I know him personally I did a movie with him. I think he'll be great for Gambit."
She does mention once again she wants Deadpool and X-Force to be made. Also, with no director or script in place for a Gambit origin story expect him to possibly make an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse but that's pure speculation...
Yes, Channing Tatum will play Gambit. Yes, it will be for a standalone movie. And yes, watch for him to be introduced in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.
