Over the past several weeks it has been revealed that several movies have switched release dates. These include Warner Brothers Pan the and the newly titled The Jungle Book: Origins and Kong: Skull Island. Pan has moved from July 17th, 2015 to July 13th, 2015. The Jungle Book Origins (Warner Brothers Version) moves from October 21st, 2016 to October 6th, 2017. And lastly Kong: Skull Island moves from November 4th, 2016 to March 10th, 2017.

The story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan. 

Arrow and The Flash showrunner Greg Berlanti also has a film coming out in 2015 titled Pan. Which will be a retelling of the classic Peter Pan story with a twist. The twist is that Hook (Garrett Hedlund) is not Peter's (Levi Miller) arch enemy but his ally against the evil Blackbeard the Pirate (Hugh Jackman). Now Empire along with Entertainment weekly has released several character posters and still's from the upcoming Pan reboot:

Today, Warner Bros announced the entire cast for the upcoming Peter Pan reboot. Amanda Seyfriend joins the cast as Mary that already includes Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as James Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lilly and newcomer Levi Miller as Peter Pan!

They also rounded out the cast with a slew of other names attached Jack Charles (Mystery Road) as The Chief/Tiger Lily’s father; Taejoo Na (The Kick) as Kwahu; Nonso Anozie (Son of God) as Bishop; Kathy Burke (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) as Mother Barnabas; Kurt Egyiawan (Skyfall) as Murray; Lewis MacDougall (In the Name of the Children) as Nibs; and Leni Zieglmeier as Wendy Darling.

Today, Variety is reporting that young actor Levi Miller has been tapped to play Peter Pan in the upcoming Pan reboot. He will join Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as James Hook and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lilly.

The film will be directed by Joe Wright and produced by Greg Berlanti.

The film will be a new take on the classic story. It is set during WWII and follows an orphan who is kidnapped by pirates and brought to Neverland, where he discovers he’s destined to save the land from the pirate Blackbeard.

Variety announced today that Rooney Mara (Sister of Kate Mara aka Invisible Woman) has been tapped to play Tiger Lilly in the upcoming Pan live-action reboot. She will join Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard and Garrett Hedlund as James Hook.

Peter has yet to be cast.

Additional roles still to be cast include Turk, Blackbeard’s right-hand man; Nibs, an orphan who is Peter’s best friend; Father Pratchett, a mean orphanage director who sells children to pirates for profit; Chief, Tiger Lily’s father who dies defending the island’s secret; Kiowa, the greatest warrior in Neverland who has been promised Tiger Lily’s affection; and Mary, Peter’s mother who gave him up for adoption to protect him before turning to fight for Neverland, where her spirit lives on.

 Pan is a new take on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale, an origin story that follows an orphan named Peter who is captured by pirates and brought to the magical world of Neverland, where he discovers he’s the son of a fairy prince and a slave girl and that he’s destined to save the island’s natives from Blackbeard. James Hook, is a fellow orphan who was brought to Neverland as a boy and has been working as a slave there for years, dreaming of an escape. He initially plans to use Peter as his ticket back to Earth, but ultimately he grows to care for the boy and stays to fight alongside the natives against Blackbeard. Hook loses his right hand in battle but wins the heart of native princess Tiger Lily in the process. Classic sidekick Smee will be depicted as a mining slave who is Hook’s longtime friend and confidante, though he ultimately betrays him and Peter by selling out the natives’ secrets and joining forces with Blackbeard.

A few months ago we got word that The Wolverine star Hugh Jackman was up for the role of Blackbeard the Pirate in the upcoming Pan reboot. Today Variety confirmed that Jackman has been cast as the evil pirate. He will star opposite Garrett Hedlund as James Hook.

This reboot is suppose to be a dark gritty reboot of the classic tale of Peter Pan.

Deadline is reporting that Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund has been offered the lead role in the upcoming gritty 'Batman Begins-esque' reboot of Peter Pan. Boardwalk Empire’s Jack Huston and Ezra Miller from The Perks Of Being A Wallflower were also considered. This reboot is going to be a dark and gritty reboot of the classic Peter Pan story. The script is written by Arrow's Greg Berlanti and Jason Fuchs.

Hugh Jackman (The Wolverine) is rumored to play the title villain pirate Blackbeard.  

Another decade, another Peter Pan film. In this origin story reboot, Peter Pan will collide with the evil, pirate, Blackbeard. Warner Bros have gone after every big name in the book, after offering the role to Skyfall star, Javier Bardem, Variety is now reporting that The Wolverine star, Hugh Jackman will tackle the role. While Blackbeard may be new to some Peter Pan fans, Pan's famous enemy, Captain Hook, will make an appearance in this new film. Variety reports that the character will be an ally of Peter Pan's before turning completely evil, the studio offered Drive star, Ryan Gosling the role, but apparently he turned the role down. Director Joe Wright's (Hanna) new take on Peter Pan will showcase the titular hero as an orphaned young boy who is taken to the wonderful land of Neverland and becomes the hero, the people need, but not the one they deserve.
