Even though it's been rumored for over a year and confirmed by the trades several months ago director Scott Derrikson of Marvel's upcoming Doctor Strange has announced Benedict Cumerbabtch as the lead (via Marvel.com) He will play Stephen Strange a cocky neurosurgeon who loses his hands and seeks help from the sorcerer known as The Ancient One. Here he learns what it means to be a hero and become The Sorcerer Supreme.
Marvel head Kevin Feige added:
“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
