For a month or so a rumor had circulated that the very first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens would debut at the very least before years end. And many assumed that Disneys biggest film trailer could end up being attached to the final installment in the Middle-Earth saga The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies. Then just last week a random Reddit user claimed to have heard that the trailer would debut Thanksgiving weekend in front of a multitude of movies at the theaters.
SlashFilm went onto debunk/confirm this rumor stating that they also had heard the trailer would debut sometime during the Thanksgiving weekend and not "debut" with The Hobbit because Disney has much bigger plans for the trailer release.
Now thanks to Regal Cinemas all these rumors can be put to rest as it seems it will indeed debut in theaters this weekend! According to a post by the movie theater company EVERY movie this weekend November 28th-30th will debut the trailer at these 9 selected theaters:
