This is it! The week you have all been waiting for. And if not, then I don’t know why you’re here!
We have both the series premiere of The Flash tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 7th) and the season premiere of Arrow tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 8th) with both shows starting at 8pm EST, 7pm Central Time on their respective days. Thank goodness I have a DVR because I’ll not be able to watch them as they air.
I’ve seen the latest trailer for The Flash and I’m very excited for it. It looks like they will have a lot of fun on the show and it will be a CW staple for quite some time. I’m also happy that they decided to keep the same actor playing the Flash as the one they used in the “intro episode” (Grant Gustin in episode 31, “The Scientist” which aired Dec 4th, 2013). Doing otherwise would have been too reminiscent of them changing up the actress which plays Sara (aka- Canary).
Something I’m worried about with The Flash is that it may end up seeming too much like Smallville. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Smallville and the formula was obviously a good one. I just foresee a lot of random supervillains, called meta-humans in the show, coming out of the woodwork all because of the particle accelerator accident…much like the supervillains from Smallville generally originating from the Kryptonite meteor shower.
I’m sure the show will be a blast to watch and the characters will remain dynamic. Plus there is a lot of room for crossover fun with the show! Something the CW is doing very well lately.
Look for The Flash on Tuesdays at 8/7 Central time and Arrow on Wednesdays at 8/7 Central. And look here for my reviews of each episode. I'm looking forward to working with everyone here at SMN and I hope that you find my episode reviews fun, insightful, and interesting.
