'The Amazing Spider-Man' Producer Avi Arad Will Never Let 'Spider-Man' Crossover

IGN recently sat down with The Amazing Spider-Man and longtime producer Avi Arad about their new film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Of course like always the question will Spidey ever crossover with The Avengers at Marvel or X-Men at FOX in which the producer said it will never happen until they have run out of ideas:
“I think I’m probably a little bit of the militant here. I think it will take a moment in which we’ve run out of ideas. There's so much to tell about Spider-Man. There's so much to tell about the Sinister Six. The relationship between Spider-Man and Venom will bring a whole other world in.”
    He adds:
“But we really feel very confident that we have so much to do […] Peter Parker is unique; he's really different. He's not an Avenger. He's not an X-Man. He's unique and we revere that. And we'd rather work really hard to have the right ideas than – you know in the toy business we used to make toys glow in the dark when they weren't selling well and it gave at least another Christmas. We don't need it yet.”
This is all very interesting given that a couple years ago Avi Arad himself revealed that they wanted to have OSCORP Tower to appear within the New York skyline in The Avengers but yet never came to pass. A lot of fans also blame Avi Arad for the problems over at Sony but yet Spider-Man is a multimillion dollar property so he must be doing something right. Arad maybe a little jealous of Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige who once worked for him and is now the head of the hottest company in comic book history at Marvel Studios.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 debuts this May
