ABC's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' Gets Renewed; 'Agent Carter' Gets 13-Ep Commitment

Yesterday, Deadline released a slew of updates on all DC and Marvel upcoming TV Shows. It is reporting that ABC will indeed pick up a full series for Agent Carter with a 13 episode commitment. It will also most likely renew Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D for a second season and play the short Agent Carter series in between the Spring and Fall hiatus of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The pilot was also written by Captain America: The Winter Soldier scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely:
Word has been that it would forgo a pilot and go straight to series. The script was finished more than three months ago (“the script is great,” ABC’s Paul Lee said back in January), the option on one-shot’s star Hayley Atwell came up and was extended, but the green light never came. Now there is talk that a pickup for Agent Carter may come along with a renewal for Marvel’s freshman Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with the new series possibly serving as a bridge between the fall and spring portions of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agent Carter will follow in the footsteps of the Marvel One-Shot with Hayley Atwell reprising the role of Agent Carter  n the 50's and the creation of S.H.I.E.L.D. While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season two will follow in the aftermath of The Winter Soldier with S.H.I.E.L.D officially being infiltrated and basically destroyed. Agents Coulsons team may need to work outside the law as disavowed agents in season two.

Agent Carter & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 2 will premiere on ABC this Fall
