Yesterday news broke that 4 Directors where being looked at to helm a future Doctor Strange film. In Bleeding Cool's report they also added that Marvel has been whispering about Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen up for a role in the film:
"According to one pretty solid Marvel-adjacent source, Arcel’s Royal Affair star Mads Mikkelsen apparently is, or has been, somewhere in the mix for the film’s early casting discussions. I’m still trying to find another source on that, or to clarify which part it would be, and whether or not Mikkelsen might have already passed or been passed over."It should be noted that Mikkelsen was first looked at to play Malekith in Thor: The Dark World but was unable to be cast due to his commitments to Hannibal. So this means he may being looked at as a villain role in Doctor Strange like Baron Mordo rather then Stephen Strange himself
Of course this needs to be all taken as a rumor given the film hasn't actually been announced....
