Deadline TV announced today that actor Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds, Assassin Creed: Black Flag) has nabbed the lead in NBC's upcoming supernatural thriller Constantine. He will play the blonde, smoking, English magician of the DC Universe.
John Constantine is described as a working class Londoner with rakish good looks, scruffy blonde hair, deadpan humor, and signature trench coat, who has been studying the dark arts since he was a teenager. When the daughter of a late friend, is targeted by demons, Constantine steps in to save her.The show will be headlined by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel) and Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist)
