Two weeks ago AMC Movie News E-i-C John Campea posted on twitter that through unconfirmed sources Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) is once again in talks to play Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman. He admitted he didn't know how trustworthy these sources are but take it as it is.
Is that it's not Phoenix, but Bryan Cranston. Again, not sure I buy it, but 2 sources claim Cranston is Lex Luthor. 2 untested sources...

The biggest rumor floating around is Warner Bros planting these 'rumors' to spread misinformation around. Also to add on top of the Cranston rumor is that Afflecks Batman costume is based off the Alex Ross inspired design. This comes after Batman-on-Film claimed it was a mixture of The Dark Knight Returns, Kingdom Come and Batman Beyond. Alex Ross did Kingdom Come so it seems Kingdom Come suit is the suit Affleck will wear with more armor....
Until we get officially announcement from Warner Bros take as a grain of salt....
:: UPDATE :: - John Campea clarify's his wife's premature statements about Cranston as Lex Luthor:
Ok, I need to set the record straight and be very clear here. A few days ago I heard from 2 separate sources that WB is moving forward with Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor in MAN OF STEEL 2. I took to my personal twitter account and relayed what I heard, HOWEVER, I also pointed out that these "sources" are yet to be considered reliable by me, that I don't know if it's actually true, and that NO ONE SHOULD RUN WITH IT AS A NEWS STORY because it's not news, it's just a rumor at this point. That's why I never talked about it on any of the AMC video or social media channels.
So yesterday (while I was in Las Vegas) the amazing team at TEAM AMASIAN (one member just happens to me my wife) had also heard from a source that Cranston was going to be Luthor and proceeded to make a video pronouncing that it was "CONFIRMED" that Cranston was going to play Luthor... but they are new to this and mistakenly said that the rumor was "CONFIRMED". Let me be very very very very very very very clear here... it is NOT confirmed. At this point it is a rumor being propelled on by certain sources that are NOT proven and thus I would not qualify them as "reliable" yet. This isn't to say that it isn't true... but that it should not be taken as "fact" yet (if ever at all). It isn't CONFIRMED until Zack Snyder or WB officially announce it.
TEAM AMASIAN wasn't trying to be deceptive at all. They just jumped the gun and started using the wrong terminology... like "confirmed". It's not confirmed. They are not professional movie bloggers and simply made a rookie mistake. As a result, for now we've set the video they recorded as "private".
Batman vs Superman hits next summer with filming beginning next month!
