Emily Blunt Hasn't Been Offered 'Captain Marvel'...Yet

Emily Blunt has been on Marvel Studios radar for some time. She was up for several roles in the past including Black Widow and the newly revealed Peggy Carter but the timing was just never right. But now after her smash action hit in Edge of Tomorrow many fans of pegged her to play Carol Danvers in Marvel's upcoming female superhero movie Captain Marvel but unfortunately she has yet to be officially offered the role. During her press tours for Into the Woods the actresses address the rumors:
"No one's offered me that officially, so it's... very unofficial. I think it's fan-casting, which is always very nice. But nothing official has been offered, for sure. If I get it, thank Meryl [Streep] for it!"
Last we heard Captain Marvel could be making a surprise appearance in The Avengers: Age of Ultron in some type of post credit scene but that has yet to be confirmed. That rumor has been around since early this year.

Now you could make the argument Marvel was looking at Chadwick Boseman early last year before ever offering him the role of Black Panther this past October. But again we may be reading a little into her statement. It seems she is still very interested in being apart of the ever growing Marvel Cinematic Universe....

    Captain Marvel hits July 2018
