Toby Emmerich Talks SHAZAM; He 'Will Not Be A Justice League Character'

After news the recent announcement by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson that he'll play Black Adam in Shazan, New Line president Toby Emmerich sat down with Entertainment Weekly and revealed some information about the film in regards to tone and Black Adam himself. However, he revealed that Shazam will not be a Justice League character, “It feels to me like Shazam will have a tone unto itself,” said  Emmerich. “It’s a DC comic, but it’s not a Justice League character, and it’s not a Marvel comic. The tone and the feeling of the movie will be different from the other range of comic book movies.”  So does this mean Shazam nor Black Adam will not appear in the Justice League film? He does seem to imply that the film will be very much stand alone and will not exist in the same universe as Superman, Wonder Woman etc. But this has yet to be confirmed....

Emmerich went on to talk about the Black Adam, the role which will be played by Dwayne Johnson, "Black Adam is a complex character. “The villain in superhero movies is often, I think, what makes the movie.  He added, "And I thought Dwayne’s take on the character, and the way that he saw Black Adam, was really compelling and fun.” The film will be penned by scribe, Dareen Lemke. What do you guys think of Emmerich's comments? Do you agree or disagree with him?
