With DC still pretending like Aquaman isn't in Batman v Superman played by Jason Momoa. The Hollywood Reporter has got the scoop on the solo spin-off film. According to their sources Warner Brothers has hired both Will Beall (Gangaster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of an Empire) to write two separate Aquaman drafts. Then the chosen filmmaker will take over the scripting duties from there.
Will Beall may seem familiar because he wrote an apparently terrible draft for a Justice League movie before WB started to create a DC Cinematic Universe with Man of Steel. So it's interesting WB went back to him for another DC property. Kurt Johnstad of course was chosen to write the sequel Rise of an Empire to Zack Snyder's original 300 flick.
Again, Warner Brothers has yet to even announced Jason Momoa is indeed the King of the Seven Seas but given that his role in Batman v Superman is a cameo its unlikely he will be officially announced until the whole cast for the Justice League movie is announced.
Aquaman is one of the 9 untitled release dates that was announced...
