Today, several casting announcements were made (via Variety) for director Guy Richies (Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows) upcoming fantasy epic King Arthur. This is expected to be a reboot of the popular folk story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table. The last King Arthur film staring Clive Owen and Keira Knightley we saw wasn't well received by fans and critics since it was going for a more "reality" based re-telling of the classic story (Same thing for Russel Crow's Robin Hood).
Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam has been cast in the lead as the great King Arthur. Idris Elba has been cast as a Merlin-esque type character who will train, teach tand mentor the young king. Lastly, Godzilla and The Avengers: Age of Ultron star Elizebath Olsen is the front runner to play the female lead in this upcoming reboot. It's unknown if the female lead will be longtime King Arthur love interest Queen Guinevere or a new character made for the re-telling of the story.
