DEBUNKED: Director Rawson Thurber Also Passes on 'Ant-Man'

Will this madness never end?! Last week we had learned that director Edgar Wright has since left the Ant-Man project over creative differences from Marvel. Marvel has since compiled a shortlist of directors to take over for him. The list included Anchorman helmer Adam McKay, We're the Millers director Rawson Thurber and Zombieland director Ruben Fleicher. We have since learned that Adam McKay was offered the gig but turned it down at the last moment.

Now This is Infamous claims to have landed the scoop that director Rawson Thurber was next offered the role of director on Ant-Man and now has also passed on the project!
Earlier today, we scooped that Rawson Thurber had been offered the job in the hopes of settling down the movie’s rocky road to production and getting things back on pace to hit that July 2015 release date Marvel is still dead set on. Unfortunately, the ANT-MAN nightmare for Marvel continues, as sources tell us Thurber has indeed passed on the film, sending the studio right back to the drawing board to find someone actually willing to touch this movie with a 10-foot pole.
So who is left? Only Ruben Fleicher. But the problem is that Fleicher is also rumored to take over Ghostbusters 3 which seems to have less trouble at the moment than Ant-Man! I think in an ideal world we would love to have Marvel get on their hands and knees and beg Edgar Wright to return....but if not how about 22 Jump Street and The Lego Movie directors Christopher Miller & Phil Lord ?! Yeah....no that would be to perfect.
:: UPDATE :: - Not so fast it seems? A conflicting report now indicates he hasn't been offered yet. But he still may have passed on it all together though.
