Today, Warner Bros announced (via The Hollywood Reporter) that a 3D animated Ninjago movie will hit theaters on September 23rd, 2016. This film will be set within the “the Lego brand’s cinema universe”
First time director Charlie Bean is set to helm the project after working on Disney XD's Tron: Uprising. Also The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street collaborators Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are going to produce the film.
The Lego Movie was a surprise hit early in 2014 with a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
