Zack Snyder's JUSTICE LEAGUE Finally Announced!

Finally, after months of speculation, a delay in filming and questions of the ability of Zack Snyder and Warner Brothers so called “lack of plans” it has finally announced via The Wall Street Journal that Zack Snyder will direct the follow up to “Batman vs Superman” with “Justice League.” Exciting news for fans of the DC Cinematic Universe who have been wondering what plans have been in order for Warner Brothers Pictures and their DC characters.

According to The Wall Street Journal, WB President of Worldwide Production Greg Silverman finally has been on record stating that “Justice League” will be directed by Zack Snyder. “Henry Cavill is expected to return as Superman, along with Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, who play Batman and Wonder Woman, respectively, in 2016’s “Man of Steel” sequel tentatively titled “Batman vs. Superman.”

“It will be a further expansion of this universe,” said Mr. Silverman. “Superman vs Batman’ will lead into “Justice League.” Not only is this exciting news, but it also finally reveals that WB has extensive plans for their DC properties in a shared universe.

Additionally, it sounds like WB has finally put someone in charge to forge ahead with their DCCU and by the sounds of it Snyder is the guy. Snyder is not only the perfect choice to lead the charge as head of the DCCU, he has a proven track record with the likes of “Watchmen” and “Man of Steel” and with those properties already under his belt and the upcoming “Man of Steel” sequel about to begin filming, there really is no one better suited for this role. Snyder has proven time and time again that he can take the source material and treat not only seriously, but a nice fresh take on it, and plenty of action as well. With screenwriter Chris Terrio writing the sequel to “Man of Steel” it also sounds like a great story will be crafted as well for this film.

Hopefully, with San Diego Comic Con just a few months away WB will announce a release date for “Justice League.” However, exciting this news is there are still many questions that surround the DCCU. For example, do they plan on giving Ben Affleck's Batman a solo series? If so, is Affleck directing? What about Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, will she finally have a solo series of her own? What about Green Lantern? Will John Stewart take the emerald ring or will the likes of Kyle Rayner or Hal Jordan don the tights? How does “Arrow” and the upcoming “Flash” television show play into this ever expanding universe? What about Ben McKenzie's “Gotham” show?

As exciting as this is, and don't get me wrong I am stoked that Snyder is helming a “Justice League” film there are still plenty of questions that need to be answered, and hopefully they will be answered in the next few months.

P.S. Snyder, release that picture of Affleck and Gadot in their amazing suits. Stop teasing us!
