Some consider Dredd starring Karl Urban practically the US version of The Raid. The ultra violent R-Rated reboot did not do good at the box office in the dump month of August but its DVD sales did amazing. According to What Culture it seems talks between Karl Urban (Star Trek, Almost Human) and director Alex Garland have indeed taken place.

Karl Urban came on last and one of the first questions asked was if there is any chance of Dredd sequel. In what should be music to fans ears, he said ‘’conversations’’ are taking place between the studio, the director and writer Alex Garland. He commented that the cinema release of Dredd was badly handled but the film had found its audience on DVD and it has been noticed by the studio.And we still have yet to get an R Rated Deadpool film....
