While speaking with Entertainment Weekly X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer reveals that he hasn't officially signed onto direct the next X-Men epic X-Men: Apocalypse:
“I’m co-writing the story and I’m producing it. I’m negotiating to direct. We’re in the process. We’re trying to figure it out, schedules. My desire would be to direct it.”He does add that the next film will delve into the origins of all Mutants starting with Apocalypse:
“It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.” It all makes sense since Apocalypse is basically the first mutant in X-Men lore.”Lastly when asked if Days of Future Past will hint towards Apocalypse (Which it will) he remains coy:
“I’m still deciding that. Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.”
