ABC Executive Paul Lee Talks 'The Defenders' and Marvel Street Universe

Yesterday, news went wild with the semi-announcement that a script had been finished and writers signed on for ABC's Agent Carter. Now a small quote slipped through the cracks on Marvels other shows that are headed to Netflix in their Marvel Street Universe which features Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones.

Lee says that ABC's shows are for a "bigger and broader audience" but adds that the Netflix shows are for the hardcore Marvel fans:
"The Netflix shows are going to be awesome, the ABC shows are watered down in an effort to appeal to the masses."
This makes sense given that the ABC shows are run straight from Disney and need to an extant be family-friendly programing. Now with the Netflix series they can definitely go much darker then they would on film. Some could say they could go TV-MA on Netflix but thats doubtful but definitely as dark as The Dark Knight.
