Months ago director Joss Whedon confirmed that the new members of The Avengers will indeed be Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch. Latino-Review was the first guys to drop that Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be cast as Quicksilver in the movie. It was recently confirmed after months of speculation that Johnson is indeed going to play Quicksilver.
Along with that rumor came that Saorise Ronan had turned down the role of Quicksilver's sister Scarlet Witch. The next actress to be rumored was Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Godzilla co-star Elizabeth Olsen. She didn't quite give a straight answer when asked (I blame the Marvel Sniper). Well now after Samuel L Jackson slipped that she has indeed signed on she finally confirms the story:
Now Sam Jackson has released me from that awkwardness. Yeah, we get to play husband and wife and now we get to play twin brother and sister. Even though we play husband and wife in Godzilla, we didn’t have a lot of scenes together. I love him, I love his family, I love his kids, and I’m so excited we actually get to work with each other more. I think it’s going to be fun.
