Sometime last month a small rumor was circulating that The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon may step down as director for the two part mega-event Avengers: Infinity War. Some then went onto suggest after their mega hit Captain America; The Winter Solider and 2016's Captain America: Civil War directors Anthony and Joe Russo maybe Marvel's go-to duo for Avengers 3. Deadline now is reporting that The Russos may indeed take over for Whedon as well as shoot the two-part film back-to-back:
"The Russo are building up their Marvel cred with this all-star outing, and I keep hearing they will step up to the ultimate Marvel all-star team and take the reins of The Avengers franchise from Joss Whedon, possibly with that next film that will shoot back to back."If Joss Whedon does indeed feel the need to step down as director...I certainly hope he stays on as writer.
Avengers: Infinity War Part I & II hits May 2018 & 2019
