'Breaking Bad' Emmy-Winning Director Michelle MacLaren Frontrunner To Helm 'Wonder Woman'

There have been a very large debate online since Wonder Woman was announced that a female director (something that is unfortunately uncommon in Hollywood) should be the one to helm the project. If you either believe only a woman director should direct Wonder Woman or simply the best person for the job it doesn't matter at this point anymore. Latino-Review broke the the news and The Wrap confirmed that Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones director Michelle MacLaren is indeed the frontrunner on WB's list to helm Wonder Woman. They do go onto reveal while she is at the top and has had several meetings about the project they are still looking at their other options. Some of whom happen to be male directors as well.

Now many had hoped that Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow would helm that project but that was stretch from the beginning given her war-time film track record like The Hurt Locker & Zero Dark Thirty. Other female directors like Punisher: War Zone director Lexi Alexander took themselves out of the running due to the pressure of such an undertaking amongst other things...

The film will star Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and who will make her feature film debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Wonder Woman is slated for 2017
