A brand new shortlist of actors has been revealed regarding Marvel's Doctor Strange. This comes off Badass Digest most recent scoop that Ewan McGregor (Star Wars, Jack the Giant Slayer) is up for the role which has now been confirmed. Variety just released that Marvel is currently looking at Jared Leto once again as well as his Dallas Buyers Club co-star Matthew McConaughey for the role of Sorcerer Supreme. Other actors being considered is Star Wars VII star Oscar Issac. Nightcrawler and Prince of Persia star Jake Gyllenhaal as well as Boyhood star Ethan Hawke.
Both Variety and Badass Digest do point our that Ewan McGregor does have a meeting later this week with Marvel Studios about the project and has picked up some comics to prepare for the role. So it seems Obi-Wan Kenobi is indeed the frontrunner but anything is possible...
Other names that have been rumored in the past were Benedict Cumberbatch as well as Tom Hardy. Unfortunately, both have other projects in the works that will prohibit either one from playing Doctor Strange...
