"Cowabunga Dude!" TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 Announced

Following this weekend's amazing $65 Million domestic debut, the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has received a release date for the planned sequel. The first film currently has 20% on Rotten Tomatoes and has a 6.4 rating on IMDB, however as if any of this would stop Paramount from announcing the sequel's release date. The untitled sequel will hit theatres everywhere on June 3rd, 2016. This is an interesting release date because, as pointed out by Deadline, this means the film will go up against the Seth Rogen/Evan Goldberg animated comedy, Sausage Party. The film will also open a week after two huge projects, X-Men: Apocalypse and the Alice In Wonderland sequel.

Paramount has also announced that everyone from the first film will return (yes, even you Johnny Knoxville) as well as the return of the king himself, producer Michael Bay. Adam Goodman, president of Paramount's film group had to say this about the film's awesome debut, "The result exceeded our high expectations and the response to the film is beyond great, making it all the more fun to get started on the continuation of their story.” The cast and crew behind the film have also revealed that we may see iconic characters like Bebop, Casey Jones and Krang in future sequels.

So what do you make of this announcement? Are you excited for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2? Have you even seen the first one? Comment below and let us know!
