Activision to Create a Movie Division Within Their Company? 'Call of Duty' First to be Adapted
Today, a rumor began circulating that Activision (via Movie Web) CEO Bobby Kostik is looking to hire some new executives to create a "film" division within their already established video game company. Much like what rival company Ubisoft did with their company. Ubisoft is already hard at work at Assassins Creed starring Michael Fassbender and Splinter Cell starring Tom Hardy. Well, on the Activision side they may want to adapt their top selling video game franchise Call of Duty for the big screen or even a TV series. Other possible titles could include Skylanders or Pitfall. Activison is also partnered with Blizzard who allowed their World of Warcraft series to be adapted into a feature film titled Warcraft directed by Duncan Jones.
Again, Activision Blizzard has yet to make any formal announcement that a film subsidiary of their company is even in the works. So don't hold your breath....
If a Call of Duty adaption was in the works the best franchise to do it on would definitely be the Modern Warfare storyline. Look at this live-action POV trailer fans put together before Modern Warfare 3 debuted titled "Find Makarov"
