We heard this a few days ago from The Hollywood Reporter but this is more confirmation. Metro UK has posted via their source that the reason Michael Ardnt left the script was that he focused to much on Luke, Leia and Han's children more then the core 3. This is not what JJ Abrams wants he wanted Ep7 to focus on the original 3 then pass the torch to the children in Episode VIII and Episode XI
The new characters, the offspring, will now be in supporting roles, according to these sources, and take center stage in Episode VIII and IX. Some characters have disappeared from the Arndt script and new ones are being drafted.’I still kinda wish they had The Apprentice (Sam Witwer) in there somewhere but obviously that was never going to happen. This also basically confirms that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford will return but how much action can these guys really do?
