Michael Douglas Explains Why He Joined Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN
Earlier today it was revealed that two-time Academy Award winner, Michael Douglas had just joined the cast of Edgar Wright's Ant-Man. The casting has since been met with a mixed reception as well as becoming a trending topic on Twitter, however fans have been pretty vocal about the casting with many applauding Marvel for landing such a brilliant actor, while others are complaining about Douglas' age. Douglas sat down with Reuters [Via CBM] too discuss the casting, Douglas said "I've been dying to do a Marvel picture for so long. The script is really fun, the director is really good. Dylan (the actor's 13-year-old son) will love it. He'll have a picture he can see." While many movie goers know Douglas from his Oscar winning role in Wall Street, the actor recently picked up a Golden Globe for his role as Liberace in this year's Behind The Candelabra along side Matt Damon. The actor also revealed that, "Sometimes - like (when) they didn't see you for Liberace - you've got to shake them up a little bit and have some fun," Usually when an actor joins such a franchise as Marvel, they sign multi-picture deals, however Douglas has only done two sequels in his entire 50 year spanning career, those films being Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Jewel Of The Nile. On the possibility of a sequel Douglas said "(Marvel) reciprocated well, there are sequels. Who knows?"

Earlier this year we reported a rumour about Rashida Jones being in contention for the role of The Wasp, well last night at the Golden Globes rumour has it that Jones was spotted talking to Douglas, if it was about Ant-Man, that still remains to be seen.
