Several days ago news broke that Marvel's Ant-Man won't be filming at Pinewood Studios in the UK. This is coming off the recently filmed Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The First Avenger. The reason its a blow is due to the tax breaks that Hollywood studios currently get when filming over there.
Director Edgar Wright told ScreenDaily:
“Ironically, Ant-Man was meant to shoot in London but London is full because I guess that Pinewood extension got turned down.”Now the guys over at Latino-Review has picked up a small scoop on where Ant-Man will be filming. According to their sources a brand new 5 sound stage, 288 Acre lot is being built for Pinewood Atlanta. Filming is expected to begin this February.
Construction is currently in progress and will open in 2014.
We at SMN have our own Editor Isaiah Whittington currently residing in Atlanta so maybe we can come up with something once filming starts? Again its a film stage with closed sets so that may be difficult.
