'Anchorman 2' Slowing Down Paul Rudd's 'Ant-Man' Deal

A month ago Variety reported that Anchorman 2 star Paul Rudd and Don Jon star Joesph Gordon-Levitt were the top contenders to play Ant-Man in Marvels upcoming film directed by Edgar Wright. We at Superhero Movie News went onto report that Rashida Jones was in contention to play Janet Van Dyne if her I, Love You Man co-star Paul Rudd was indeed cast as Ant-Man. Then just last week Schmoes Knows reported that Marvel was close to signing both Rudd and Jones to a deal (assuming multi-picture deal).

Now it seems to hit a bump in the negotiations. According to The Daily Superhero sources Marvel is indeed set on getting Paul Rudd for the role of Ant-Man. Now with Anchorman 2 coming out soon and it almost guaranteed to make some big bucks at the box office Rudd's asking price may go up. We all know Marvel hates spending money.
One of The Daily SuperHero's insiders has provided information saying that one of the issues with signing Rudd right now is the pending release of his next potential blockbuster film, Anchorman 2. While Rudd is just a supporting actor in the film, the source says his stock will be as high as ever after the film becomes a huge hit this holiday season. (Some speculation by the source there but let's be honest in agreeing that Anchorman 2 will make a ton of box office cash.)
This may just be a small bump in the road and really nothing to worry about. One thing is for certain....Marvel wants Rudd!

    Ant-Man hits theaters July 2015
