Yesterday, it was announced that The Conjuring and next years Fast & Furious 7 director James Wan is expected to return for The Conjuring 2. Interestingly enough the President of New Line Cinema Toby Emmerich comments on Wan returning to the horror franchise but also teases there's another reason Warner Brothers and New Line brought him back:
"James will make an important movie for New Line and Warner Bros or DC, and that is definitely part of the plan, and a reason for bringing him into the family. He's the only overall director with a deal here, because we see him as a class of one."As we all know New Line Cinema is teaming up with DC to produce Shazam co-starring Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. So it's extremely interesting that they specifically name drop Wan involved with DC. Now let it be known last week during DC's huge slate reveal of films they announced that New Line Cinematic and Warner Brothers will be co-producing all upcoming DC films not just Shazam...
Either way it looks like director James Wan is on DC's radar for directing one of their upcoming slate of films be it Flash, Aquaman or even Shazam this is exciting news!
