Dwayne Johnson Will Play Black Adam in SHAZAM

You heard it right folks, it's official. After months of speculation on whether Dwayne Johnson will play Shazam or Black Adam, it was been revealed that today that he'll in fact play Black Adam, reports Variety. Darren Lemke (Turbo, Jack the Giant Slayer)  will pen the script, with Johnson set to play the lead part. According to the site, Black Adam will be an anti-hero trying to clear his name, so he won't be a villain. This means the film will most likely been seen from his point of view than Shazam himself. No release date has been given as of yet but it'll certainly be one of those dates released by WB a while ago. The Rock took to twitter to confirm.

New Line Cinema (mentioned by @Variety) was working on a Shazam movie but was absorbed by Warner Bros. years back. Shazam is now a WB movie.
