Today the guys over at Unleash the Fanboy got a small tidbit on Marvels Phase 4 plans! According to their source its unlikely that Robert Downey Jr. will return after The Avengers 3 so in Phase 4 it seems the roster will change completely to consist of new heroes!
“It’s so incredibly early in the process, but unless Robert [Downey Jr.] makes an insane deal with these guys, they’re going with New Avengers.”When asked if this ment Phase 4 will use the comic book arc New Avengers or simply new heroes will join the roster:
"Well, you’ve heard the recent casting announcements. They’ve got a ton of great guys. Paul Rudd. Michael Douglas. Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Whoever they choose for Doctor Strange and the other new guys in Phase 3. They’ve got a lot of great guys to lead the new phase of the team. But that’s all I say. It’s really early."This shouldn't even come as a shock to comic book fans. Everyone knows that in the comics every hero has been an Avenger at some point beside the core four Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk.
Of course with every rumor especially one this early take with a massive grain of salt...
